I just rinse mine out, wipe it down with rubbing alcohol, and rinse again.

The 5 gal bucket all the way up to the 55gal drum, thats how i do it

Hot but tepid water with 10% bleach per volume allow to circulate until cooler then scrub, avoid hot hot water as it may affect seals in your pump, thats said if you are lucky enough to be able to dismantle the pump ...do so! and clean that impeller ..then rinse with cool water, allow to air dry in the sun if you can

My pump is external. I have the Stealth Hydro basic system. I used the Aerogarden for 6 years before trying this DWC system. So far it's working very well. I just have to acclimate myself to this new system. I used to use bleach, soap and water. I appreciate your opinions. I'll give it a try.

Thanks again!

You had it right. Clean with soap and water and then sterilize with bleach or better yet a strong h2o2.

Spray it with bleach, then fill it with water and put all the airstones in (if reusing). Wipe the stones and reservoir sides and rinse.

There's no need for soap.

Good as new.
