clean with bleach or peroxide?

I cleaned everything with soap and water and then H2O2 and I am haveing an issue with my PH going up and I think I am going to tear it down and reclaen everything.

I saw a thread that someone had used bleach instead of H2O2 and I was wondering about the down side of bleach. I am concerned about the inside of my chiller. I did fill it with peroxide and let it sit for a few hours.
The only other thing I have a concern with I bought a couple of new airstones and did not think about cleaning them.

Cheers

You really aren't giving a lot of info. What makes you even think the pH change is due to that? What are you working with?

i use to work in a micro./immun. lab. any time we had a spill, it was cleaned with a 15-20% bleach/water solution. if you want to kill something, use bleach...

I used to clean with peroxide and vinegar. One after the other. Not at the same time. The let sit for a few days. When I did hydro. Occasionally I clean the room and what not though. With soil / organics. No reason to clean any pots or anything.

Its important to understand what you are cleaning and why...that said I prefer to use household bleach, as it may not smell like or look like soap, it does a great job on killing spores, pollen and bacteria, for this reason I rinse out my pots and wipe the grow rooms down at the end of each grow.
Bleach works by stripping the 02 monocles from the surface, making it difficult for bacteria and spores to get a hold, thats why you hands feel slimy once immersed
...and its cheap ...lol add ..5-12% per volume to a bucket of hot water

Thanks for the opinions.

The issue is I had a couple of weeks between my last grow and my new grow. I was waiting for my new Area 51 RW-75s (awesome) and think something started growing (probably in the chiller) I cleaned everything before reassembly but I think I missed something because my PH was jumping up from 5.8 to above 7.0 over night.

I added extra H2O2 and it was keeping it under 7.0 but still an issue.

Yesterday I tore it apart and cleaned everything with H2O2 (crazy bubbling I think it was the pond-zyme).

Then I cleaned everything with bleach. Reassembled everything and today the PH is rock steady.

Cheers
