Claw and yellow w pics Need explanation

Ha just made another observation that I thought of this morning, those red bags allow some light to penerate, this might affect the roots right?

Nope. I've heard it said before, but I have never seen any adverse effects from it. These roots were exposed to light 24/7, and she went on to become a gorgeous adult.

i would suspect over watering or too much N.

if your using a good water source even tap, you don't really need to ph to get an good grow in soil. i used to not ph and eventually use a shitty ph meter that was inaccurate. still did fine. got a good one now though. im not saying you shouldnt ph, just that you can grow find in soil without it. most ppl i know that grow dont even ph at all. as for myself, i ph everytime now since i have a good meter.

if you have a cheap pen, just throw it away. it is probably not accurate and will throw your results off. ph sticks suck too.

Nice roots, one day....gotta crawl before I can walk. The only ph supplies I have are the GH drops, works great for water or nutrient solutions but I don't think you can use the drops to test soil. I mixing soil in a solution of RO water and let it sit then test with drops, very hard to see the color w all the dirt floating in water and I don't think it was an effective way of determining ph. Thats why I did the runoff test yesterday. I realize that, like JH said in his post about the water not having time to change to the soils ph, but I figured it might give me an idea, but I just caused further overwatering.

I would seriously not worry about pH in soil. I own a pretty nice Hanna that is a pretty nice paperweight. If you set the pH of the soil at 6.8 (or whatever), at the end of your grow, the pH of the soil will still be whatever you set it at. I can all but guarantee you that.

Get your watering down and that will take you a long ways. With cannabis, less is more. If anything underfeed a tad bit. You'll get your legs under you, but you aint gonna be a Master Grower your first go-round. If all the girls survive the first grow you'll be way ahead of me. I decimated my first crop or two. Loved them to death.

I see so few follow ups on post to plant problems. After giving then a couple days, my 2 plants in the bigger pots(only one in the pic, the one that looks healthy)have been taking off. I decided to scrap the two indica dominate plants that were suffering from overwatering. They had improved slightly but my other plants could use the cfls ways more, as they are taking off. But I took this opportunity to check out how my roots did in the week since I have teansplanted them. They did very little, roots barely grew beyond the original rootball from the containers I had them in, likely to stress and overwatering. Its now heen 5days since watering my 3 thriving plants. They ate doing great. I have been sticking my finger up their rear end waiting for complete dryness and waiting for them to say, hey MF I think it is about time you make it rain

I also just noticed JH, is that a leaf growing underwater? How in the hell? Can I get a scientific explanation?

It's a clone/cutting. The leaf didn't form there. I fully expected it to wither, but as you can see......
