classic strains vs. modern strains

just thought i'd start a debate on here. do you guys prefer classic strains or newer modern strains that have a wider array of genetics?

All the newer shit is like going to the store and trying to pick which chips you want, but more expensive.:-?

Most of the new shit has classic roots...but the classics seem to be more homogeneous because of selective inbreeding. The new strains seem to come out so quickly that phenotype variations are high in seed stock. I guess it depends on your understanding of breeding. If you expect to get the cannabis cup winner in your 10 pack of seeds, I want what you are smoking.

hell i it was all bagseed to me until i started growing only then did i find out there were so many strains and hybrids after smokin an indica/sativa hybrid i'd have to say i like these modern strains.

Im to new to have even smoked any original strains let alone grow em. Moderns all i know but all strains come from the older ones..

I love my White Widow I've been running the same genetics for 4 years. I believe its considered a classic strain. I'm eager to try some of the newer genetics but I gotta agree that some of it doesn't seem like it could have had the time put into it that the older stuff does.
