So,
I just picked up a Cirrus 1k.. I thought I'd post and see how many trolls pop up...But here is the kicker... I got it new for $400...It isn't a true full spectrum as it uses flip chips cobs...But it is 1k watts at the wall..Any thoughts..Let's hear em...

The thing is a beast. And my first impression of the light is..It seems to be almost white...Suprised after looking at the documents..I expected a bright purple like the shitty China LEDs...Granted this is a shitty American FlipChip COB

I intend to do just that. I have access to a few more too. Personally I looked at it like this.. A new gavita is going to cost you at least 300.. Why not spend 100 more and not have to buy bulbs ever again....

If it has cree cobs, you are good to go sir. if not, use it and see how it goes, if you are not satisfied, u can always replace the cobs with cree CXB3590 and that will compete with MH and HPS lights

We have one of these, bought for $600 new, before I realized the power of the DIY led world.

Definitely not cree cobs, they are direct AC powered with no separate driver. There is a smaller 12v power supply inside the light for the 10 fans.

I'm not a big fan of it, can't quite pin my dislike down to one reason but it's hot, there are air bubbles forming in the lenses, and I feel the spread is too narrow for the 4x4 tent it's in. But we did win a grow competition with it, so, *shrug*. It would get replaced by a diy strips light in a heartbeat if I had the funding.
