Cindy 99 replacement?

Back in the day, Cindy 99 F1 & F2 was the shits. For a musician who wanted to have that pure sativa high while playing music and composing, it just didn't get better than Cinderella 99. Indica was fun for a detour but for a gig, Cindy 99 was just about perfect.

So now it's today, 16 years later, I doubt the current offerings of Cindy 99 are really the same as that F1 & F2 offerings I grew back then and I wonder which of the current Sativa strains is like what that used to be? If I were to order feminized seeds, which would be a worthy effort for me to look at?

Thanks!

The Female Seeds version is very good. I grew it 2 years ago, popped 2 females and got mirror image grapefruity moms. The smell was fruity but not very strong and definitely grapefruit. Easy to clone, done in 50 days. Not the densest but excellent sativa high and descent bag appeal, if that matters. Descent yielder too. I've posted pix of both buds and plants on RIU but can't find em now. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I much prefer Sativa and my favorite was Cindy 99. Always worth trying new options though.

Are you talking about the old Brothers Grim strain?

Yes. It was magnificent! ;)
Well I'll just tell ya what I was told about 8-9 years ago. a guy traded me a clone. He said it was called Rosetta Stone. As best as I can remember, He claimed that it was a sister to Cindy 99 and that One of the Brothers Grim had found the seed for C99 in a Jack Herer bud in a coffee shop in Amsterdam.(so the legend begins) ??????. Anyway like I said it was a long time ago and that particular strain has been in my garden since then. Here is the numbers and a pic of indoor and one of out. I call it Brand X. One of the unique characteristics of this plant is the STENCH. People either love it or hate it. Who knows if the story is true, but I keeping it:)

@ Oregon, Beautiful photos! I grew some of the F2 C99 and never forgot how nice it was. The coloration and form of your buds is just like I remember. Great story too.

Thanks, I wish you could smell it to know if it's even close. We will begin the 4 generations style back breeding to try to isolate the gene, or close anyway. It's going to be a fun process regardless:) Here is another pick in a raised bed (2015)
