Cidly apollo 4 disappointment

I have experience in growing with CFL and always got decent results, now I have purchased the above light and after 2 weeks the results are very disappointing, it is like trying to grow at candle light. I have spent a lot of money for this set up and it is totally worth less.

Sorry man, you have a standard chinese/cheap light story. Not sure what you were expecting but apollo's(specially lower wattage) aren't very good. And if they live up to someones expectations...they will probably break in the next run.

it is actually well well made at least the casing, they took time to build, and cidly was one of the company that it is recommended on the forum. It was not cheap neither and I did my research. I am not sure where things went wrong there

Sadly it's not a very good light. Maybe you can use it as an additional source, with your CFL as main.

What panel? What space are you trying to light? How many plants? How big are the plants? I'm not a fan of Cidly but sometimes the problem is not having the right light for the right situation. Companies deserved to be bashed if they screw ya, but you're not telling the whole story here.

I grew great dank frosty, dense, big buds when I had my Apollo. So did a few other people here. Maybe you had a bad spectrum. Or not enough light for the area or light was too close and stunted growth or you had shitty strains or grower error. But apollos produce good results. They just don't last much after a year.

Apollo 4 is around around $150 shipped.

Hey man, sorry about your troubles. Not to be mean, but Cidly's aren't exactly known for their quality or reliability...

I bought a 12 spot Growblu/Cidly/Apollo for 4 bills off Ebay. (new from Growblu).http://growblu.com/180x3w-apollo-led-grow-light
I never used it and sold it to a friend who just finished a grow with it.
It was the full spectrum, 360 watt draw, over 8 plants with about 2.5'x4' footprint. OMG! He killed it!
Let's just say, I regret selling it.

Either you are trying to cover too much area or your spectrum is jacked.

I have copied the spectrum form other brands and I have made 40% blue 60% red with the intention of growing auto, I have 2 plants in the smallest jardin secret tend with ventilation, the light is 30 cm from the plants,

the spectrum (each cluster - 4 clusters)

3 blue 460~430nm
7 red 660
4 red 630
1 white 2700k

the spectrum is on the red side, but I have always used 50% red and 50% blue with CFL without any problem,

They are growing very slowly ( 2 strains from different seed banks)

Too much 660. Not enough whites. Supplement with cree a19 globes or cfl's. Mine was
3 2700k
2 5000k
5 660
5 630.

of I did apollos again I would go for aquariums apollos (12 per cluster)

I bought some custom led from evergrow meant to be used as supplimental lights with hps.
Though I would use it on my new seedlings and see how they liked it. The four vanilla lush LOVED
The leds they are doing fantastic. One white widow done nothing other five seedling okay and
The sixth ww is doing really good. So even phenos within a strain can favor different levels
Red/blue. You have to match plants and lights. I turned on my mh light and dimmed the leds to see if the ww come around
If not I put them back under t5's - 6400k.

This is why led users are including more white led's. You get strain specific results with
Bandwidth specific leds.

That Warm White is pretty much useless by itself. The average Chinese white still has a way to go performance wise, though if it's a BY with some red phosphor added it could be OK but more would have been better. You'll also want to probably add some IR/FR to your grow tent with all the 660 you've got. That should accent your flowering and finishing.

And if you're at 30cm drop that shit to 20cm at least, maybe even 15cm. You'll see some results. I would hope . Good luck.

Most growers with Apollo LED grow light got very good results at this forum, so a bit surprised while reading your story.
What stage are your growth? the PAR reading of Apollo 4 is about 1200umol to 1500umol at 30cm, this may cause the plants stunned at the veg stage if you hang the Apollo 4 over the plants at a 30cm distance. My opinion is at early veg stage, 100cm above the plants(between 200-300umol), later veg stage 50-80cm(between 300-700umol), early flowering stage 50cm(700+umol), later flowering stage 30cm(1200-1500umol). How to explain one APollo 8 LED , 3 circles of Apollo 8 LED failed only after 3 monthes ??

there is definitely something that is causing a stunt grow, maybe I will try to put the light higher. I must admit that LED light is a totally new thing to me, and I did not expect it...so I am hanging in there and post some news. In the mean time I have ordered a 125W CFL just to be safe and add some whites.

Have a friend with apollo 4 and gets arround 100/110 g dry and dense!

Think you dont have a good hand growing with leds.

And also with only 10 posts, think you just entered to get info but not to give info. and help others, saying shit is easy, reparing the damage you can cause, not easy!

Dude i had problems with my first led grow in soil, with leds youve got to water less and with less water and nuts.
they dont produce much heat so the soil doesnt dry and doesnt let the roots to expand and find water so thats make the girls to slow or practically doesnt grow.

let the girls flat out, when the leafes are fluffy and in need of water just water them with half the water you did before and always wait the girls dessperate need for water.
