Christmas light growing???

thanks for the supporst assasin and thanks for the input everyone else...ive been thinking about it since i came across the article on the first link i put up the cheap gardener one after a couple days of thinking about investing in an led grow pannel but not being sure if the risk of it sucking was worth the price... the person not only got vegies to germinate and begin healthy growing if you look at updates 1 and 2 the person had to build a larger contraption now cuz some of them were outgrowing that little box... just a little shocking... and i think its high time growing indoor became a much cheaper hobbie to start up
 
after all...the more common the practice...the more legal it gets :):) and less laws restricting the use/growing/existance of the plant there will be, and thus cheaper easier ganj for all

please, no need for insults tho...i just found an interesting ass experiment online and i wanna talk about it with people who actually give a damn... and whats wrong with dreaming of a little christmas-grown tree? but thanks for the helpful input.....................hater
 
if you got the indoor/outdoor type and wrapped your containers in them with as many as would fit it might have a very tiny benefit for lower foliage. i still doubt it but if you are going to bother you may as well try to implement them in the most efficiant way.
 
I have within the last 5 days overloaded my mind with growing information and even though I know it isn't optimal to grow with Christmas lights I thought that it is completely possible to the point I had to make an account. And I know this thread is really old... but that's besides the point. So I don't know if that dude ended up taking on the challenge but I think I have decided since I'm doing my first grow and failure is acceptable, why not go all out with retardation and use Christmas lights. Funny how I went from "I am getting a 250w HPS or 6 CFLs" to fucking Christmas lights. I also have the advantage of having access to a few varieties of very nice Christmas lights of multiple colors. (I got a guy lol)

So whoever the dude was preaching for the lights or at least the possibility of it working tell me if it worked so I don't have to do this shit and everyone else wish me good luck!

Btw the grow box is going to be a 18" X 28" base that is 36" high, and I am going to just cover every fucking inch of the that mother fucker with lights. I could fit 3 2 gallon plants pots in there but I think since I am using Christmas lights I'll settle for 2.
 
Ruff, im in the same boat. However my plants are out side. My roomates has a cannapi that is lit up by xmas lights. When the light hits the smart pot its kinda dim. So my question is how far at night can a plant be from light sources other then the moon.
