Chop the main cola?

I have 7 flowering plants (5 1/2 weeks). One of them is too tall for the grow room and is getting too close to the HPS light. I though of chopping the main cola off which will keep it away from the light. Is this a good idea? Will the other buds take over some of the energy?

Also is it normal to start seeing deficiencies in the big fan leaves after flowering for 5 weeks or so?

PS. Oh and after this long flowering, can the cola be dried and smoked or doesn't it contain enough THC for a newbie?

Just bend the bud over. Squeeze the stem with your fingers untill it gets soft. Then it should lay over without breaking.

slowly bend that tall cola over, and tie it if you have to tie it down.

I strongly urge you to do the patient perfect thing and read up on curing and cure it right. you're going to want to wait until 8 to 9 weeks of Flowering, get the $9.99 microscope at Radio Shack and look at the trichomes and learn how to idetify the perfect time to harvest. (Cloudy, mixed with amber colored)
When you whack it, trim off the big leaves, hang it upside down for 4 or 5 days, in a cool dark place. Then "cure " it for at least 4 weeks to allow the wierd chloraphyl to leave and the sugars t change and the THC to cure.. Go to GROWFAQ and read up on HARVESTING AND CURING. Why rush it and get less potency?

if u bend it andit sort of limps over but isnt broken. like there is a really dark green area where the bend is and its basically just hangin without any support - will it still live???

right, if you go step by step and water before you bend it, you can make almost a u-turn with the top, it just takes some time to do it, let say 3-4 days.
