Chodes Grow

So a buddy of mine shows up at my house with a few really solid clones the other day. Totally unexpected, 2 real nice indicas, and a nice indica/sativa. He couldn't tell us names for contractual reasons, so I don't know what they are yet.

I have four 70w hps shoplights that I previously thought were metal halides, but after sitting under them for a good 20 minutes I realized they weren't the right bulbs.

I will get a cfl for cloning and vegging but until then I have them under one of the 70 watts.

My hat trick is a 430w that also got for free, ordering bulbs tomorrow so when time comes to flower I will be set.

Tomorrow I will probably get some good soil and new pots. Then I'm good for awhile.

These babies are doing absolutely phenomenal. Being my first time using HID lights, I am completely blown away by the rate of growth. They out grew the cooler in a day, and are definitely in need of some 3 gallon pots today. Whatever this strain of indica is, I definitely like it already.

ohyea. if y ou veg it a month in the 3gal you may need 5gal

I did a few measurements, I can fit about 45-50" of plant from the top of a 5 gallon pot to 12" from the light. So I figure I will flower at about 20-25" and super crop if I have to to keep from the light, because this sativa is wanting to stretch even with LST'ing.

Aaaaalright. Got another 70w bulb, and a 400w for the big guy. Also rigged up a 4 way CFL with some 100w's in it, that's actually going to be for our clone dome that you will see in the next few weeks.

Shit is on the up and up. The girls are happy, big plans in the making.

First; we picked up 140 feet of pvc, and a bag of fittings. Built ourselves a 10x5x7 frame, and ordered a 100'x5' roll of 2 mil mylar. Going to have 2 seperate sections in it, a 5'x7'x3.5' veg section, and a 5'x7'x6.5' flower section. We are also building our own reflectors and light setup. Each room will have 3 bulbs; veg will have 3 individually wired 400w metal halides, all built into one reflector with individual cool tubes branched from an 8" system. The flower will have either three 600w or 1000w high pressure sodiums, also individually wired and cooled via 8" system all going out through a carbon scrubber inside of a drying box.

Should have this all running sometime in the next month or so, but for now...














See here in the more sativa girl, it seems like some chlorosis going on. Water is ph'd fine, using fox farm grow big at like 1/4-1/2 strength. Not too worried about it since she's drinking up water like a motherfucker, and I have roots starting to poke out the bottom already. Any tips feel free.







They are taking to training very well. Starting to get lots of good solid bud sites on 2 of them, the other one got shocked and has been slacking, but a good flush and 400 extra watts of cfl right above it is doing a kick ass job of catching it up with the others.

Things are flourishing. They are drinking almost a gallon of water a day each, I think I will move them into the 5's or 7's on Sunday. I will let them veg without any training from now to get them taller, I will flower around 20 inches, however long that takes. The stalk on one of them is almost an inch thick at the base now, so I think this one should hold some pretty fatass buds, the other two are just so damn bushy it's insane.

Update on the grow room; mylar tape is in, frame is getting filled with sand on the sides, and will have 1/2" wood dowels in the tops for added structure. Mylar sheet should be in between today and 3 weeks from now, so fingers crossed that's just a safety buffer in delivery time. Found some 400w metal halide shop lights we will be setting up remotely, and will be making our reflector to house them all.

In the flower room, we will be using two 1000w ballasts, one with a sun pulse splitter powering to 600w HPS bulbs on each side, and the other will power a 1000w agrosun bulb in the middle. These will not be used all at once until plants are mature enough, but we were slightly intending on burning a hole in the earth. The "Icarus" satellite from Die Another Day is kind of what we are going for, except we want to use that to grow dank. =b

you should be good with the 3gal containers. those containers are more than twice as big as my 1 container with 3 plants in it 2 of them being around 3ft tall and 1 plant that is around 7ft tall.

They are in 2 gallons right now, and I think I am going to put them in 5's or 7's and let these things get real beefy. I have 7 feet to play with in the new area so I want to do my best to fill that up completely.

Sitting here with the plants. Figured I'd update while I burn this hash oil and blueberry bowl.

I left for a few days and visited the folks, and I come back tonight to find that my room mate/partner didn't water the plants once while I was gone. The soil was dry 6" down and hard as rock. The indica girls didn't seem to mind, but they take all sorts of abuse with a "fuck you" anyways, but the sativa... ooooooh the sativa. She wasn't so happy, looked like green wig all hanging down. I gave them all a thorough drench at lights on tonight as usual, and she is already back to full vigor.

On the clone front we have some good news. I checked the jiffy pellets before I left 2 days ago, and there was zero sign of root activity. I come home tonight, and find 3 of them bursting at least a dozen roots about an inch long. It's like seeing a baby take it's first breath on its own. I put them in some 4" square pots, and stuck them in around the other plants by the cfl's.

Tent will be built in the next few days, we have everything but wood dowels and hangers to put it all together. I will be modifying my 430w ballast to be switchable, and will be running it with a MH bulb in the veg room for now till we get all of the big lights built and hung.

Plan to flower in 14-20 days, just to make sure these get really nice and stout before I do.

these are getting more and more monstrous by the hour.

Made a run to the horti shop, picked up ebb flow fittings and all the shit. built an EZ cloner from wally world and home depot. Also built a 9 plant ebb flow system in a 25 gallon tote with 5" net pots. Now I have an obligation to fill these things with plants =DDDD so I took 9 clones in oasis cubes and have them under some CFL's. I am so stoked, I am going to veg all my soil plants until the end of the month when we get our 2200w's of HPS set up, and then flower them all at once.

Perpetual harvest will begin in the next few days/weeks, and shit is going to start getting awesome. Another fellow patient will be joining us to get shit going really well.

I lost my camera somehow in the last few days. I live in a house with 7 people in it, so it gets a little messy. I will have pictures of the bushes and their babies in the next day or so.

I figured out how to use my phone haha.

OKAY! Tent is up, it is about almost sealed and judging by the moisture build up on the walls it is pretty close. We built a table out of some 2x4's and OSB we had laying around and painted it white. We have 9 clones in oasis cubes that should pop roots in a few days, 5 in jiffy pellets that will be potted in a day or two, and 7 growing plants as of now. The ones currently rooted and vegging in soil will all be flowered simultaneously despite sizes, some will only be about 5-10 inches maybe more, and some will be almost 2 feet. Fuck it, I'll take what I can get out of them.

The hydro set ups are both built and tested, but we are waiting until these go into the flowering room until we start the oasis cubes in a cycle. We built one of the reflectors. It will house two 1000w metal halides, just have to pick up the ballasts and some 5" glass tubes to finish it up.

We're starting the flowering room reflector soon.... I'm not gonna leak anything on that because it is going to be fucking AWESOME. I designed it the only way I could cool 3 1000 HPS bulbs in one reflector using Loewes/HD ducting parts.

Those are 7 gallon pots, plants are about 13" tall, but have been heavily FIM'd topped, and LST'd, branches are actually about 15" long on a few. They were repotted a week ago, and already have big fucking roots coming out of the holes.

Those one gallons were just repotted yesterday, but they are looking perky.



I will get a few pictures of the new reflector and the little ones I made out of 6" ducting for the 70w's we had. Pretty nifty for taking like 10 minutes of work and a 97 cent extension cord. Great supplemental lighting!

We will have a perpetual harvest under up to 3000w's of light at full sun up in flower. Harvest schedule will be strain dependent. Would like to harvest three at a time, so we can rotate nine plants in groups of three.

This will mostly be providing medication for local patients, but I am hoping to get my hands on a few skunk berry clones that have actually been returned by patients for being waaay too potent for them. I think that sounds about right for my tastes, even though I'm not a big skunk fan this strain is amazing, so I will grow that for myself along with some train wreck.

These are the first clones. Doing very well, getting nice and bushy with heavy lst'ing.




The branch structure of the sativa plant. Very massive rib cage looking branches. I have been pruning all the way to the top to keep nothing but top buds on them.



This is where I need your help. I am using fox farm O.F. soil, grow big, reverse osmosis water with like 6.8 ph or something like that. I have used up to the label amounts for heavy feeding on every other watering. I am suspecting these are low in like cal/mag/n or something along those lines.

HELP ME!? PLEASE!?



They are doing fine except the dying leaves here and there, so I'm guessing they are just translocating. I just wish I could get this pinned down.

As you can see in the bottom right, there is some twisted growth. Low P? Too cold?


The setup as of now, total of 570w's of light until the 29th when we flower under the new lights. Currently sitting at about 16-17" tall growing about an inch a day.

BIG THINGS.

Today is the day of reckoning.

All will be purchased and assembled today. Plants will go into flower next sunday, and then I will go through and bleach/seal everything off and set the hydro up for good.

I picked up some calmag special and have been foliar spraying with it, and a little in the water. Hopefully this will clear up this deficiency, it breaks my heart picking dead leaves up.

Will change to 12/12 on sunday, going to load them with N and feed the stretch. try to fill the room as much as possible, but at about 25" already that shouldn't be a problem.

Still waiting on the glass for the cool tubes, then we will be in business, but until then I can't turn on any more 1000w's without temps getting out of hand.
