Chlorophyl,wtf.

How do you get rid of that chlorophyl smell?

I must admit I do harvest at first color change even while there is still a lot of green on the bud.

Then clip and hang out to dry in a cardboard box for about 4-5 days, then into mason jars and burped as need to get the right dryness, but the 'fresh mowed lawn' smell is killing me!

Do I have to wait till the plants are BROWN, or is it ok to harvest at the first sign of color change?

TIA

Sounds like you might be harvesting too soon and not drying/ curing properly.

I like to let the pistils turn brown or at least half of them brown before I harvest.

I will then hang my plants in an uninsulated area of the house (like the garage) so that the temperature will rise and fall each night, as the plant is drying. If you treat the plant as if it were still alive, it will use some of it is chlorophyll while it is drying, and the smoke will be less harsh.

I also allow my plants to dry at least a week. I know they are ready to start curing if I can snap one of the stems.

I think I'm just too anxious!

I've spent so much money on growing dope, that I'm finding it hard to buy instead of wait.

Thanks for the help.

The curing process from harvest to smoke should last at least a month. That's figuring a 1 week dry, and 3 week cure. Don't want that stuff going moldy.

No problem!

I completely get too anxious when they are almost ready.

Just remember you basically want to dry and cure as slowly as possible. I know it's totally nerve racking and the anticipation is a BITCH but you will definitely be happy with the end results!
