Chicken wire to guide bud growth?

Is it possible to put chicken wire from the inside edge of the pot lining all the way to the light indoors and trim the leaves that pop out in order to control the growth?

are you referring to a scrog(screen of green)?
I use chicken wire positioned roughly 8" above the pot

No Im talking about a cages around the plant I am growing a bunch of plants in a small area I want to put powerful CFLs inbetween them but dont want to the leaves to touch it. I was just going to put a cage around all of the plants in a cone and trim off the leaves that pop out once the plant gets too big.
