Chicken Wire A Problem?

Could the Chicken Wire be preventing lower node growth? We have deer, rabbits, etc around us, but haven't had much of a problem. Should I keep the plants inside the wire or set em free?

I don't think it's the fence. It looks to me like your plant stretched looking for optimal light. Notice the top few inches of the plant has nice tight growth going on, as long as that kind of tight growth continues you should get some nice colas. I wouldn't worry too much about the lower branches as they tend to be scraggely anyway compared to the top.

It depends on what kind of yield you're looking for. If you want her to bush out, get a bigger radius chicken wire and tie her down so she branches out. Lower node growth is promoted by getting light to the places normally shaded by top canopy. Like the guy above said if you want em tall and lanky that's fine you'll get a smaller yield but the tops will be thick and danky.

I would give them more space around by putting a bigger circle of chicken wire around them. That will allow them to bush out more and like mentioned above you could tie her back, but atm I think they look just fine. She will bush out more as time goes by just make sure she has room to do so. Other than that keep up the good work

i dont think its the wire causing this its lack of direct sunlight to the whole plant. Get a bush saw a take out some trees.

removing half of the wire so the nodes could stretch worked wonderfully! setting them free was 1/2 the way to go. will post pics soon.
Next issue: it's been raining every day. What nutes do you recommend to put on the topsoil for veg/ flower transition? It seems my botanicare products are being flushed out, but the plant is still very healthy--it survived hail!
