not that i'm stating a particular opinion about incest, but if you can't see why that screenshot is the DEFINITION of why your argument is faulty, you may in fact be the one who "needs jesus". the only evidence that anyone in that shot is even slightly educated is a single person's use of correct punctuation, and the only position that is clearly stated is "it's gross". not a single reason explaining why it's gross, and the way the question was presented (to "your peeps" no less) was incredibly biased. they prolly b sippin dat coff medicine yo. on da realz foo.

that wasn't a discussion, it was a bunch of people backing up their friend without purposeful discourse.

and what was said in that whole block of white that you completely censored? the comment after it had a "yeah, but" tone to it.

check out the RIU poll about incest. And the block of white was whited out because it had some identifying info about me..

if you can't understand why that poll is as faulty as your screenshot i'm not sure you should be participating in the discussion. the discussion on this thread involves the legality and consentual issues and such, and whether personal tastes should dictate legislation.

you could make a similar poll and ask "is it ok to masturbate to a picture of your mom? yes or no" and get very predictable results. i don't see what it has to do with the meat and potatoes of the discussion itself.

a less biased poll would include an option of "i don't like it but it's not something i care about one way or another" or something similar. the poll was clearly set up to make a voter choose one of two extremes and not include anything in between. if someone doesn't subscribe to either school of thought they are forced to abstain from the poll or choose an option that does not match their view, which makes the results worthless. poll fail.

it seems you are not aware of a lot of things related to incest, and unbiased discussion in general.

how about this question:

are you a democrat? yes or no

i'm not actually asking you so much as i am demonstrating that when you pose a complicated question in such a manner, you are going to get flawed results. there are several ways to answer that question, but if one is only presented with 2 options to respond with, it's a useless question to ask in the first place. the results don't mean anything because they leave out a large chunk of people who simply cannot answer yes or no, and if they do choose a simple yes or no, they have helped skew the results by stating something that may be contrary to how they actually feel.

Political opinion is far different then incest. Am I a democrat? That could have alot of different answers. Asking someone if incest is ok is a yes or no answer, there are no variables to consider. Either it is or it isnt, because there are no other possible options.

No its not. Asking about political affiliation has variables. Asking if McDonalds is good has variables. Asking if swimming in the ocean trumps swimming in a pool has variables. Asking if incest is right or wrong has no variables. Not many things are without variables, but the question of incest is one of them.
