Oh.. that is bullshit bro. If you have the ducting running out of the room and if your intake air is reasonably cool and the unit still ain't cooling the room... take that bitch back cause you either got a lemon or its undersized for your needs IMO. Last word.... if you plugged it in during the light cycle, you will need to give it some time to catch up and affect the room temps.... it may do better at holding the temp down if it got a head start from cooling through the night cycle - try to get the room down into the 60s overnight. So I wouldn't take it back until tomorrow if you haven't observed it from a cool room start at the beginning of light cycle. Or I could just be high. Dude.... a bunch of CBD and then a blast of high THC really lowers the boom on a guy :blsmoke:

Last post then I'll stop spamming your thread there Chewy Kush - I think I remember Kramer saying that was the handle you're going by now? Lol, I get ornery when exceptionally high ;-) sorry

I pulled up a pic of that unit I think. It showed the hot discharge and the fresh air intake being mounted right next to each other.... this would be a bad idea as it would just suck the hot air back in. I'm sure that ain't it either.... just sayin.

Yeah it is supposed to be fine for 2000w and 10x10 which is what I have almost to the T, so as far as btu it should work! What I think is the intake hose is sucking in the heat from the exhaust and is not allowing it to cool maybe? The fan power seems kinda weak but I don't really know if its bad! The instructions suck and has no description of "auto" feature! I tried both but not much diff! It can only be about 2-3 feet from the window which sucks! I don't know I'm just kinda pissed! Anyone survive Colorado without A/C in the garden?

I get by with a 15 inch fan and two 4 inch fans blowing straight up at my bare bulb, and one 3 foot tall tower pushing air towards my 2 fan exhaust window thingy. OH, and a ceiling fan. I guess you could say my "passive intake" is my bedroom door.
This is the shit ton of fans it takes to get my closet/bedroom/growroom to OK temps.

A/C is on in the living room, but that doesn't really allow much to get to the grow room (bedroom) Plus, it is a shitty apt. a/c.

I get by, LOL, with SHIT TONS of air circulation.

THEN AGAIN, I don't have nearly the wattage you do so I am pretty much way off base here. LOL.

I use a swamp cooler for my house and intake from my house. I haven't bothered to put one in the basement, so i have seen 86 in the garden this year, but if i got one in the basement i am sure i could stay in the 70's as long as i keep my lights on at night. Installing a second cooler in the greenhouse today, may leave the basement door open and use it for the lower part of my house too.
I spaced talking to NEEDS last night, but i will talk to him about it today....

I think we can get you figured out with a little info on the details Chewy.
First off though, your intake and exhaust are not right next to each other going out the window (or whatever) right?

thanks chewberto for the cal mag tip on the kandy kush. you were spot on, had to double, almost triple the dose. hungry bitches, never had a strain take more than 1000ppm in dwc, let alone drop the resi from 1100 to 950 daily. upto 1200 and staying stable. had issues with heat in my room, I bought a larger fan and filter, took down the temps by 8 degrees with air-cooled hoods.:leaf:

Ok so my hoods are cooled via an 8in 675 cfm fan attached to the window with a flange and it expelling the air into the attic a straight shot a-crossed the room! The A/C has the intake and exhaust placed on top of each other and 6 feet of ducting, so i have to intake and exhaust in the same window, which is also-my intake for the hoods( this is the problem in my opinion)

There is a gap between the open window and a board sealed over it for attaching flanges, and this creates a hot box from the a/c exhaust, So the intake is hot as fuck now. so i have to find some comparable ducting to extend into the attic for exhaust, this design is fucking stupid as shit not enough ducting at all to work! i think i should return it just because off that! why should i support a company that puts this crap out? dipshit motherfuckers!

So fucking jealous of all you green thumbs.

I've obtained a ballast (SunMaster), a nice hood and a couple lamps, already to go.

I was thinking of staring the grow here in my apt.but since we are moving in about a month, I decoded to wait, since we are up-heading to buying a house instead of renting an apartment.

And I'd rather not transfer plants that are just over the 30 day point into my new neighborhood..haha

I can't wait..

Does anybody have a suggestion?..The Garage or indoors?

I say fuck the garage, because there is limited temperature control., however the garage would be so much easier in terms of tent placement and general convenience.

I'd also prefer that my garage, house my cars and garage stuff..haha

I may have a buddy of mine build me an addition also.

Here is how it is set up! image.jpgimage.jpg I don't have it hooked up in the pic cause I'm re thinking the config! Just sucks in gonna have to put another hole in the ceiling and figure out how to attach a new duct.

If my intake for A/C is outside air, what can I expect as far as efficiency in cooling? Do I need a certain intake temp for this to work properly! If so maybe I can cool the room with 500 dollars some other way? My gut tells me Take it back! But I need an option!

Your issue is that your hoods are now not cooling as well, along with the inability to cool the compressor due to recirculating the air.
Your intake temp shouldn't matter too much on the cooling as long as it is fresh and you are not dumping the heated air back into your hoods (your biggest issue imo).
How much ducting did you expect them to include? 6' is typical for any unit such as this, and what it is designed for.

Chew. Just attach some duct to the hot air exhaust outside the house if possible and run it a little ways away... Or you could do it on the intake side.

Yes that is the issue I think as well! The ducting after it has been attached to the unit and window with the slant from a window to the unit and bending from the attachment point, allows me about a foot of wiggle room from the wall, I kinda expected since its sold on hydrofarm that they would have thought the practicality of the unit for indoor garden use, in the instructions it refers to gardening as well! So it's poorly thought out IMO and doesn't offer a complete solution cause I need about 8 feet of duct minimum to exhaust to the ceiling! Maybe for home use its fine, but for its designed purpose in gardening it fails! If the highest fan speed expelled air with more force it being close to the wall wouldn't be a prob but it seems like it wouldn't cover the room unless I put another fan behind it to push more cold air!
