Just a little advice bro, cutting off fan leaf's.. especially during flowering.. is very very counterproductive. It slows growth.. and flowering.

A little tip for ya' - don't cut the fan leafs.. just move/tie them down.. to where they're out of the way.. so your bud sites can get the light that you
want them to have. This way, your not cutting any leafs.. and therefore not stunting the plants growth/flowering cycle.

Just thought I'd try and help ya out some.

what strain you thinking of growing next?

ever tried Nirvana's 'Ice' strain? its one of the quickest growing strains I've ever grown. Though, the flowering (indoors) takes a bit longer than most strains. But, its because the Ice strain is more on the Sativa side.. more than Nirvana realizes I think. Flowering takes about 9-11 (possibly 12) weeks to fully ripen up. The smoke, is indescribable. My nugs were just frosted with trichs.. it honestly looked like I had dipped them into the sugar bowl.. lol. Very potent buds.. with a trippy almost narcotic stone.. with a nice fully body massage... ahh yesh. It's nice..

anyhow, I'm rambling. I've got a qrtr bag of Strawberry Cough.. and its just amazing. Makes me very social though.. and I'm not a social person. hehe..

anyhow, great work man.

Hi all sorry for the shit pics my other half is away for a while so she took the camera so all i had was my phone :(

Update from LST plant 30gs...

But the info you all came to read is as follows the topped plant weighed after 8 days drying 40.6gs as you see from the pics i left some sticks on so i can handle the buds without touching the good bit ;-)

This one really got started late but as you see out of the two that i have posted weights for this one has provided the most bud! I will be topping next time and next time ill be topping more than once!

So here is the straight up plant and i am sad about this one as i tried to watch for bud rot but i am afraid that i missed this as it was growing from the inside out and only saw the extent of the damage when i cut it off the main stem :(

I like the other methods for avoiding bud rot as the buds are more spaced out and not all packed up the main stem. I am only on my second grow and my first one didnt make it past 60 days flower but excuses aside sorry for messing this one up!

the weight came in at 21.9 and as you se i have no sticks here just tight little buds i cut away the rotten parts of the buds and left those to dry a little more than the others. was really upset on this one as i feel i have set the experiment backwards as we dont really see how it oculd have been!!!!

So to recap:

LST 30 Gs
Straight Up 21 Gs
Topped 40 Gs

91 Gs

Thanks to everyone for thier support ill will be smoking some this weekend as that would be the LST after a couple of weeks of curing i will be aiming to keep the topped plant in the jar for as long as possible which i feel after over a month curing will offer the real taste test ;-)

Well what did the rotting buds weigh? I know it still doesn't give us 100% accuracy, but gives a little more on your experiment. I can honestly say I really appreciated you doing this. It has shed a lot of light on these techniques!! I am running 12/12 from seed now, so this will be useful for me. At least you proven, to some degree, that topping certain strains doesn't stress the plant enough to lessen the yield over an lst'ed plant. Where with 12/12 from seed growers lst is the preferred method due to the stressing concerns of topping with short veg time. I guess the plant doesn't stop growing as much as we think when we cut 'em up.

your next mission, shall you choose to except, is topping vs super-cropping 12/12 from seed!

I have just posted the yields :) sorry about the pics! i would love to see some pics of that 6 cola girl sounds like you can expect some super yields from your ladies!

I smoked some but i dont feel that its got a full kick as it needs some curing time but i have to say i am very proud the taste is nice the smell is dank and it really kicks you back is a nice high but a strong one. I like the sound of the buddha cheese you had it must be good if you get lost and cant find where home is :-D i am not to clued up on strains but i love you ambition with growing more and more! i wish i had more freedom as i am hooked on the gorwing side i really enjoyed it i dont have any hobbies like most of the stoners on here but this really was a pleasure to watch take shape and you get the added thing that even when your done is more enjoyment to come from smoking it :)

i might do the nirvana bubblicious or the AK48 also they gave me a single White Shark seed which i might have a look at. I think next time ill do some vegging so that i can LST and Top them better as i want more colas and more bud for me i need to get as much off one plant as if i have one plant maybe i can stay out of prison if i get busted!

thanks for stopping by :-) i think next for me will be Nirvanas bubblicious as i want to leave it to cure for months so it really tastes like bubble gum! I have never tried the ice strain but i like the sound of frosty buds ;-) i am not down with the strawberry cough as i am also not a people person lol i am now going to take a look at some seeds and pics of the ice as it sounds very interesting thanks for the tip.

Hey gunball thanks for the positive message am pleased you got some use form the test for me it was great to lern so much on my 2nd grow. And even better if i proved something along the way :-) I am sorry that i didnt keep the weight of the rotten buds :( but from seight it was no more tha 6 to 8 Gs most of it i tried to cut away and keep some of the bud as it only effected half of the bud you know.

i am already thinking of the next mission and i like the sound of super cropping but i better get reading lol thanks for the rep as well fella very good of ya. I see that your doing CFL growing ill be skimmin through your grow later as i am think next time to CFL for veg (if i choose to do it that is) and for 50% of flowering as i saw so much growth in the last few weeks could i just not put in the 600HPS near the end? (looks like some more reading to do on this as well ;-) )

Was my please chainseeker :) ill be holding off on a grow for a few weeks but i am always online a few times a week following other peoples grows that are not done yet so if you need any info or just to chat on my experiment feel free to hit me up anytime!

Thanks probo :) whats are you htinking of doing next? do you have any good recomendations for a good 12/12 strain? what has been your most productive when using this method?

I've got a mix of rooted cuttings in flower right now. Four strains vegged from 1 week up to 1 1/2 months.
Strawberry cough vegged the longest, was topped, supercropped, and took a bunch of cuttings the week before flowering.
Purps vegged for 2 weeks, OG and Bubba Kush both vegged between 1-2 weeks.
I just started a new thread yesterday.

Thanks for the tips ganjaluvr. i wont cut any more off them until they are ready to harvest. i just hope it hasn't done too much damage already, as i think they are only about 2 weeks off harvest ?
I'm not too sure when to start them on water only, so maybe you can give me some ideas on this & what is best time to end their growth, if you have the time that is.

Hi Goonabeatyaa,
nice to hear from you too mate. I think we have all learned something from your grow, i know i have learned a lot & put some ideas into practise.
its true what you say about getting hooked on growing. i am growing to pay off a few debts, but i really love the challange of trying to gett everything right & watching them develop too !
i will continue till xmas with my grow room & now take cuttings every 2weeks. i have a plant thats 4/5 weeks old, is only 7" tall but is already into flower. it wont produce much, but its another learing curve. Note if you take a cutting from a flowering plant, veg it for more than a week lol.
i will put some new pics up of my grows very soon & will contact you when i do.

Smoke Update :-)

So from what i have smoked so far and its alot :-D the LST plant is bar far the strongest the straight up plant is not as strong but is still nice and seems this one is getting stronger the longer its in the jar. the smoke is strong a real good hit not so trippy more of a lead arse feeling. Both of them are a smoth smoke and has a real distinct smell is not as i was expecting really strong citrius not of any specific type but still strange :-)

bye for now and can hnestly say i am going o smoke a j and watch some tv ;-)

the topped plant is in the jar and has been since chopping i am trying to cure this one for atleast 4 weks before smoking. ill let you know how it goes.
