Cheese platter

Hi everyone! Wasn't sure exactly where to post this, so I guess ill turn it into a journal..
I've never knowlingly smoked cheese before so I was dead set on getting some cheese for my new run. Hours of pouring through the different banks on attitude I got the idea of a cheese contest. So I picked eight reputable banks from which to get cheese variations. I'm not saying these are the best cheese strains or breeders out there, I'm just looking for the best cheese out of the bunch. Without further ado here's the list:
Nirvana seeds Swiss Cheese
Delicious seeds Cheese Candy
TGA's CheeseQuake
G13's Cheese
Dutch Passion Dutch Cheese
Barneys Farm Blue Cheese
Bomb Seeds Cheese Bomb
Big Buddha's Cheesus

Starting in jiffy pots, then to hempy mothers, ill take clones at about 8 weeks hopefully and then flower the seeds to determine the winner(winners for yield and taste respectively). Any bets out there?

The cheese race is underway! All the seeds popped about the same time, with BF blue cheese lagging behind a bit. They looked to be stretching quite a bit already so I removed the dome and putt a 32 watt cfl about a foot off the tray. My early favorite is the G13 cheese, based on absolutely nothing.KINDLE_CAMERA_1388756126000.jpg

Chugging along here not much to report except that all the seedlings are still pretty stretched out. I'll probably bury the stems up to about an inch below the leaves when the time comes, maybe a few more days to let the roots set.KINDLE_CAMERA_1391140242000.jpg

Same thing happened to my DOG seeds. Once they popped i planted them in solo cups but they stretched too much so i had to emergency transplant them. Lucky youre still in the small rooting tray haha

Took Bros advice and planted into jiffy pots with a perlite vermiculite mix last night. I was pretty rough with them due to the burpee trays and small root system. I expected one casualty at least and was surprised this morning when I saw them all perking up a bit. I'm by no means out of the woods yet but I'll take as a good sign I've got some tough ladies. Thanks for the advice bro!KINDLE_CAMERA_1391511794000.jpg

I was gonna wait till the new battery for my camera to get here to do an update but it got delayed from the snow storm and I got a new set of leaves on the girls...except I just noticed I accidentally ordered the reg version of the cheesequake, which is looking the best so far so I'm thinking it's a dude. Started feeding last night with the 3 part and they responded well, looks like I'm on schedule to take some cuts by the first.KINDLE_CAMERA_1391698159000.jpg

I got new batteries for my camera so here are some better pics. The G13 I think looks the best overall but the CQ is still a little bit bigger. Still feeding the 3 part and they're drinking a lot at this point, I came back to a few of the smaller girls, the candy and the blue, starting to droop. I've also got a three-headed cola going on one of my Black diesels.. I couldn't find any info on this happening but it's only on one out of three from the same mother.

all healthy seedlings! the 3 headed plant is usually called polyploid i think? Just means it has more than the usual amount of leaves/branches weird it came from a clone. You could have pinched the top when cloning or something like that.

a few of my DOGs were like that but from seed. haha

I did pinch the tops of all the plants I have in the flower room so it could be just from that, but it's the biggest cola I've ever grown so definitely not complaining, just looks kinda odd.

At the one month mark the girls were drying out the jiffy pots in about 24 hours so I decided it was time to transplant into their hempy homes. They have all kind of evened out in terms of size with the candy still a little behind everyone else. Differences in their traits are starting to show so were just starting to get interesting, here are a few pics with the new camera

It's been a while since I did an update, so I decided to snap some pics. Since the last update we've moved two plants out of the running. The cheesequake ended up male, but it's my only TGA gear since they sold out of almost everything during the last attitude promotion. Anyways I made a little outdoor area for him and well see if we can get some pollen.
The Blue Cheese by Barneys farm was just a fail, super scrawny so I threw it in the backup tent to see if the smoke is any good at least.
Here are the pics; I've posted them by my current favorite to least favorite.cug13325.jpgprog13325.jpgcudc325.jpgprodc325.jpgcusus325.jpgprosus325.jpgswiss325.jpgcucb325.jpgprocb325.jpgprocc325.jpgcucc325.jpg

Thanks...I've got a 400 watter in there with a supplemental kessil 150 red. I was skeptical about the kessil until I ran a test last run and it produced slightly better but the hairs on her were about twice the thickness and a really vivid orange almost red, really pretty.
I just run hempy with the gh 3 part. Super simple ... a little pk boost from weeks 4-6 then PhD water till harvest.

Every three days, and every three watering they get plain PhD water. But I go as high as 2100 ppm when they're really putting on weight.
