Checking trichs - hps or white light

Is it best to check trichs under white light, as opposed to hps? Or does it matter?

I would think the red spectrum in hp's would make immature ambers look a little darker. So ive always used a cfl when checking.
I'm no pro and have no evidence to back this up. This is just my opinion and what's worked for me.
