Check out my First Grow Stealth Setup CFL

Well, its been a couple days so i sifted the soil around and saw the seed with about 3/4" tail. So i fluffed up the soil and replanted it. Hope I didn't hurt it. I have a Northern lights X Skunk in the paper towel in just in case it doesn't sprout above soil I will use this one 12/12 from seed since it is not an autoflower. Hoping that the blueberry will grow, i have been digging it out each day and the tail seems to be getting longer each day, i reawlly need to practice patience.

alltho they are cfl im also using cfl.s but im using almost 3 square feet of grow space but id advize u to use a small fan into your lights aswell as a fan blowin onto your plants for fresh air because ur going to have a fire on your hands ... my box is 3 ft tall and im hittin temperatures of 30 celsius but this is a 125 watt cfl im also using which is makin the heat...just be carefull and work out ya temperatures with or without fans first...uve probably done that allready ...

whoa, a fire is a scarey thought and it has actually been on my mind. I do have 2 fans in the box though; one blowing directly on the lights and one on the bottom for circulation. I did read though, that CFL's don't really get hot enough to cause fire - generally there is more of a fire hazard from wiring and power.

cfl.s the size of your hand wont get that hot but 125 watter like im using get hot enough to burn ya hand which ive allready done a few times myself...but yeh ya right the power and wiring can be a major problem...

id prefer to run my lights at daytimes i couldnt stand not being able to sleep knowin it could catch alight lol but as u say fans do the job of coolin anything down as long as uve got sufficient air flow

I also run my lights during the daytime (or at least the majority of daylight) if they are in the Veg stage which my light schedule is 18/6. For some reason, we all fear fire, yet how many of us have a fire extinguisher at the ready? I know I do not, but in my travels today, will def pick one up.

Alright, she is on day 3 above soil.. 2 tiny leaves on her looks like her baby teeth are coming in. I keep checking on her and seems like she grows everytime. :-P

Can't wait till she has a nice 5 fan leaf.

also, I only have 2 of the 43 watt cfl's on right now. There is no need to have all 4 on right now, i think 86 watts at this stage is plenty.

Tiger Bloom just arrived, now I'm waiting on Big Bloom.

On the FF fertilizer chart, it says I can use Big Bloom from seedling and on and reccomends 6 TSP per gallon... does that mean i should only use like 1 or 2 TSP's and slowly increase the dose? It seems like the general rule is to use 1/4 of the reccomended

You are correct when you state "The Rule of Thumb is 1/4 of the recommendation, and then increasing slow and steady until 100% is attained :-)
Good move on the lights ... no need to go "Full Throttle" just yet ... I compare doing that as this ... "Would go into a tanning bed for the first time for an hour? Of course not, slow and steady increases to avoid burns :-)

The only caution that I can throw out as far as using FF charts when it states from seedling on ... (1) A friend of mine opened up a Hydro shop near me, and received the Fox Farm Lines. He said to me ... When FF started up, they did things themselves and had a great product. As they grew, the sold "Their" rights to a manufacturer and since "Their" product has no more quality (In His Opinion which I value) (2) When I see the word "Bloom" I automatically think of Flower, and therefore, would only use it during that stage. For some reason, i think that they sometimes say things like that, so that one uses the product "faster", therefore more sales. The later is just my opinion.

Hope things are going well (You seem to be doing great Buddy) :-)
Happy Holiday Growing
The MaineYankee :-)

. I use the fox farm trio and they work great. I don't not go by he chart I go by the recommend ppm only and I go by the max ppm and I have had no problems. I feed everytime I water although I do not recommend doing this if you use soil I use a soiless mix. Save the tiger bloom for flowering stage use big bloom and grow big. Wait to use grow big until you have four sets of leaves. Then use it, it is very strong go light. Get a ppm meter a must need and also ph meter water after nutrients shouldbe 6.1 -6.6. Make sure these are on point are you might as well not even bother.

Yeah those are your babys Cotyledons, they feed off those till they are ready to take on nutes.
Watch how your plant responds, i was watering with 1/4 strength and it started to get spots on it. Turns out i was underfeeding it, and the entire time i thought i was overfeeding.

NOT CORRECT -- any electrical fixture in an enclosed area and lets face it folks ..NONE OF THE LIGHTING EQUIPMENT WE USE AS A GENERAL RULE IS DESIGNED TO BE USED AS WE ARE USING IT...just reality of course on this board you have soo many complex growers using boocoo bucks and the one's that are really into it have dual circuit with breakers for each leg .. etc ...you take a speaker that was designed for music and stick not 1 not 2 not 3 but 4 CLF'S in that speaker and things can get out of hand..I am just waking up here but in doing my calibration of my area one of the so called tests was to create a situation where a fire could happen with CFLS and one day on of my clamp lights due to the weight (Y-adapters are once again a modification stressing your system) the light fell INTO A POT killed one plant outright and started burning about 2 or 3 more -- lucky for me I monitor tempature from a remote location ( like I am in bed when my babies are basking in the light) and I noticed the temp rising first 86 then 89 then 92 finally I just about fell out of bed at 94 degrees ran out to the growing area and the room was filled with a smoke reminded me of burning ballasts the last time I smelled that same smell was down in the battery (NYC) on 9/13/2001 -- trust the folks here FIRES with CFL's can happen they SHORT OUT WHEN WET AND THEY WILL CATCH ON FIRE--- take it from someone who knows first hand -- I will post some pictures of the burned out socket later -- something that helps I haven't seen mentioned much here YOU SHOULD CLEAN THE SOCKET OUT ONCE AND A WHILE DUE TO COROSION remeber we are dealing with basically a "acid rain" atmosphere and it does like to eat electronics __ SAFETY FIRST the last thing you want with a stelth grow is to have your parents over for dinner and all of a sudden your speaker just blows up--not a good stealth idea..,
