cheap places for mylar???

hey, im assembling my grow box tonight... i was wondering where people get there mylar from??? i have googled it and a 25 dollar roll seems about 25-35 bux.(depending on where u shop) then i came across this...

do u think that would work just as well if i got the silver kind?? i also saw at Hobby Lobby they have silver reflective contact paper(sticky sided paper) for cheap.. will it work just as well? thanks for the help u guys!

I haven't got the wrapping from my roll of mylar, but I thought it was 0.02mm thick. Where that stuff is 0.002mm thick. You might want to check on that because if its too thin, you might have problems with it. While I got mine tapped down pretty good, it still moves a lot when the fans are blowing on it and if its too thin, I think it would just rip up and it would also be hard to wipe down after a grow. I just wipe mine down with some mild glass cleaner after each grow.

I just did a quick search of some online hydroponic supply places and it looks like its the same stuff. Its 0.002mm. Nice find.

if you do a search on google shopping you'll come up with a list of some places that have mylar for cheap. another option is to just use flat white paint. this may be better in some instances because the usual mylar is so thin it is prone to ripping, its a pain in the ass to get smooth on the wall, and if it gets dirty its a pain in the ass to clean it. flat white paint is almost as reflective and much easier to put on and keep clean imo.
