ph and salinity are two different things... Just because your ph (alkalinity/acidity) is good does not mean that you do not have other trace materials or minerals in your water... =O

How do you know the water is salty... =]

Filtering your water is your best bet... If you have very bad city water and can afford a RO system buy one... If you can not afford it you might be looking at store bought water...

Boiling water will only raise its tds (Total dissolved solids) level as water evaporates and salt or other minerals remain... But if you collect the evaporated water you have clean distilled water but it usually is too laborious of a process to use for home growing needs...

Any way more info would help...

Put the water in a pot, bring it to a boil. Place a plastic trash bag, or tarp or something similar above the pot, catching all the steam, where it will condense back into water. Have the bag/tarp set up at an angle, and the water will run down the underside of the bag. Have a second pot sitting where the water drips to catch all of the clean water.

Or buy distilled water for 99c a gallon at any local supermarket ;).

Mix 1:1 with your regular water, add nutes as required.

I think i will try the distilled water. I have not done a ppm test yet but every crop i have ever had shows signs of salt build up. I am still trying to get rid of these little bugs i have also. I used neem oil, spray, stick pads, got rid of all the soil, i dont know what else to do.

i will check my nutes to see exactly what micro nutes they have thanks, and i am going to try using distilled. Is there any bombs i can use with my plants in the room?
