Yea, I was planning on switching to HPS for flower if I can control the heat.. Hopefully those can get me through veg ok.Nice! I have done a few of these when I started growing, even a PC grow. Now all you need to do is get some bulbs with decent wattage.
I've seen alot of successful grows on here with CFL. My current light fixture cost me about $30 (lights included) and I plan on getting a 400w HPS kit for(I'm guessing you meant "flowering") for about $130. The current lights I'm going to use for veg (26w x 6 + a few for side lighting) should do me just fine until then for 2 autos with the budget I have. Thanks for your insight.I bought all 4 of my 125w CFL flourowing sets at like $40 each new.....
Tell me, which of these 2 is the better deal? Cuz I look at them mutant..... table lamps ppl are "growing" with and can't fathom the plants doing anything but struggling after a couple weeks of growth....
Why not just build a 2' tube system if ur gonna build, can drop one ballast in there n be done with it. 4 x T8's @ ~40w each....
I just can't see growing seriously with a reading lamp..... maybe I'm just judgemental that way...
controling the heat in your grow with a HPS can be tricky, exp if it is a small space with a 400W HPS. I Had once used a 250W HPS and the temps got pretty high at times. One thing I did though was buy PC fan controllers that plug into the wall and Rigged in pc fans in my hood(Sort of where your wood is on your hood), then hooked the exhaust on the other side catching the hot wind from the pc fans. Hope it all turns out well for you, good luck man.Yea, I was planning on switching to HPS for flower if I can control the heat.. Hopefully those can get me through veg ok.
Thanks for the info dude, will definitely keep that in mind. I'm hoping with fall coming, I shouldn't have too much trouble keeping temps down. If not, I'll just go with a bunch of 2700's, and use HPS for my next grow.(winter)controling the heat in your grow with a HPS can be tricky, exp if it is a small space with a 400W HPS.
