just built a cheap o cloner from what ive read here. havent used it yet cause it seems i dont have enough bubbling going on. maybe its just my being green with hyrdo. i have a dual air pump for and 80 gallon tank, hooked up to the same bubble wands as in the FAQ. just doesnt seem to be bubblng like the pic in the FAQ. do the stems stay just above the water when bubbling? any info would be great. ive read so much above roots in 5-9 days. i usually have roots in 10-14. plus this seems easier.:joint:

If you really have an 80 gallon tank for your cloner, I hope that you have a powerful dual air pump (one rated that high) With 80 gallons I would recommend getting at least four bubble wands but you may need more. The point is to get the bubbles dispersed throughout the entire tank. Did you soak the wands for an hour before using them? The ones I bought required me to do so, and they started making a lot more bubbles after.

The stems should be just above the water line. I would try to not let them touch the water because I feel like that delays root growth for me. Good luck.

I think he is saying he has a pump that big enough for a 80 gal tank. I use unphed tap water on my cloner with a shot of h2o2 every few days. I keep the fish tank heater at 77 degrees I keep the water about 3/4 of an inch below the end of the stem. I also dip them in powder rootone before I put them in the bubbler and I get roots in 5-9 days.

yeah the pump is for an 80 gallon tank. just doesn't seem to bubble so violently. the would be cloner holds 6 quarts. a gallon and a half

I get what your saying now. Yeah, I would try to get some more bubble wands then. I have four in my 8 gallon and it bubbles like crazy. If that doesn't do it, I would invest in another pump to help out, but only if your clones seem like they aren't getting enough moisture (will be hard to tell bec. they will yellow during the process)

I'll take a pic here shortly of it running, see what you think. It bubbles but like i said just doesnt seem like enough. and yes it is a dual air pump. i got the biggest one they sell at petco. i first bought the whisper 40 will almost the same results.
