Moving the girls to my bedroom closet. Measures ~ 7x5x9 /3= 105 Cfm min. Based on calculations I found here on the site. I am in need of a cheap and effective fan filter combo. Looking on eBay theirs obviously 100s of Chinese options. What would be a good silent combination for less than $140? Vent run will only be a few feet. Vented into the addict. Odor control is of the utmost importance as I have a Sheriff that lives next door. He's cool but I doubt THAT cool.

If odor control is that important, I'd hold off and build up the budget a bit. I love the phat filters big, heavy, and effective, and are mid-range price wise.

You will need a bigger fan than you think, with a speed controller. If you run the fan full power, most every fan out there is pretty loud, it's the type of high frequency vibration, humm, that carries well. By getting a bigger fan than you need and slowing it down, it will run MUCH quieter.

Id get the hydrofarm/active-air 6" fan, buy the speed controller (around $20$), and a 6"x24" phat filter.. It should run you around $250, be quiet, and meet your odor control needs.

I also see most of these use coconut shell... I'm allergic to coconut, do you think this poses a hazard to me? I would assume not especially since I will be venting into addict

Fan noise honestly isn't that large an issue. It's my bedroom, gf is kosher an I have to have a fan running to sleep anyhow. It's just the kids and neighbors. I have a lock on the door and stuff. Only 4-6 plants at a time. They are currently in my tv build. I just plan on using as veg space and flower in the room.

make sure to put some types of ducting on both sides of the fan(insulated would be best for quiteness) worstcase is you have to build a duct muffler which is pretty cheap. i need some for my 6" and 4" fan whooosh!!!!

There are some on ebay that come as a kit(fan, filter and 5m of ducting) for about £50, they claim to be 14db noise level which is low, when i was researching mine i found some accoustic ones that where branded as quiet are 50Db. My airforce 2 fan is about the same.
Now i bought two of these cheap fans and my mate bought one. The first one worked well and was quiet, the filter worked well too. When it came to the second one a month later i found the bearings were screwed and it was unusable due to the noise it made. My friends was even worse.
Thats what you get with cheap shit.
Another friend asked the same question as you and my answer was buy a 4 inch Ruck fan. he got the same deal on filter and only paid ten english more for the Ruck
its amazing in comparison, the bearings are swiss and its german engineering. no rattle or vibration. thats what you dont need. cant help the sound of airflow though.

I havnt looked at your calculations so im going on the cfm you provided.
I realise your not in the uk but you wont have a problem finding a Ruck for your budget.

Happy smokes

HTG has a 4" fan filter combo for about $120. I have two. you may want to consider going with the tallboy filter for an extra $20. It will last longer and do a better job of destinking.
5 year warranty.

I bought a cheapo set up from ebay and the filter worked for about two weeks before crapping out.
I ran a 6" tallboy filter from HTG in my tent for almost 3 years before it became stinky.

Remember to write on the bottom of the filter when you got it, then replace it after 18 months. Better to err on the side of caution when you have a sheriff next door.

You might want to put the fan in the attic to make it less noisy.
