Changing 250 hps to 400 hps

Would like to know if it is ok to change from a 250 to a 400 midgrow.I am in about 4 weeks flower.I dont want to stress them out to much,but my sour candy stretched alot and i know my 250 isnt penetrating like it should.Any advise would be great.thanks

Other than the 400's still to small, no worries.

sure go ahead, tho add it with the 250W

keep it a bit future away then the 250W

Ooh yea and how is your temps ? do count on a raise in temp with a 400W, here a cool tube or even better a cool hood really do make a different specially if you want to run both Im thinking a big nice SoG or Scrog maybe ?

Right now temps at a steady 75 at the tops of plants.The 250 is about 3 inches from top with no burning whatso ever.I have a 6 inch venting hood on low setting.I dont think the 400 will give me many problems.My main concern is not to stress them out by giving them alot more light all of a sudden.I also realize i might have to raise the light up a bit.

i have my 400 about one foot off the tops if anything they will love the 400 more i wouldnt worry about stressing them with it

Sounds good..Just picked one up

I went from250 to a 600 had no issues.

Misson complete...About a 5-6 degree difference.Kicked the exhaust fan on high and at a nice 78 degrees.Not as bright as i thought it would be but defintely alot warmer.About 7 inches from the tops.Will see tommorrow if im cookin em.

Well that was the fasted bulb i ever blew.3 days.Thought it was my lumatek ballast.Got a new one under warranty today just to find out the bulb blew.Has a loose piece floating around.Any suggestions on bulbs?This one was a 430 super agro.Was looking at the eye but i heard the lumatek doesnt get along.Back to the 250.Bummer because the last 3 days buds have exploded.

Back in action..This time with a lumatek 400 hps high par output bulb.Alot brighter and not as hot as super agro.
