Changes to the grow space CFL light positions and kelvins

I may be wrong, but in order for the plant to be succesful at photosynthesis the light should be coming from the top and not the bottom.

The light is coming from the top. The light from the bottom is for the shoots which are being blocked by the big leaves. Hey I'm trying. I could be wrong. and I don't have a problem placing them all from the top if that's the consensus.

Looking for feedback.

using CFLs lighting all around is necessary. enough above to provide vertical growth and like you said the shoots getting blocked from the big fan leaves, as CFLs don't penetrate too far. that's why you keep the as close as possible without burning

oh my bad lol. but still i would position them to where they come in from the side and not the bottom.

Thanks for the feedback. What I'm trying to do is flood my space with 6700k daylight. When It's closed the mylar shoud reflect the light and bounce it around the room hopefully to help with the flooding effect that I'm trying to achieve. It's my first grow, so I will take note and fine tune as I go and be better at it on the next grow. I want to leverage my lessons learn by applying them to each successive grow until I have a successful step by step process.

Thanks!

youll notice that the leaves will position themselves to catch that light coming from underneath.

you have some serious nute burn, especially on the two in the back.

Check out mine for example. I don't provide light from the top yet. She(hopefully) was planted March 10th. It was transplanted on March 24. I tied it down w/ plummer tape(not sticky). I'm think ruderalis Indica dominant.IMG_20130328_054932.jpgIMG_20130328_054955.jpgIMG_20130328_055106.jpg

This seems ... interesting. You have to keep in mind that lumens fade with reflection, meaning you`re getting maybe 50% of you potential light from `mylar reflection` as you put it. IMO you`d be better off positioning all lights above and letting them work your canopy and leave the light disappation for training. There is NO SUPPLEMENT for training your canopy proper to intake proper lighting.

I run 2 42W CFL`s for my Veg area with no issues with 10inch relectors and have great growth rates with 4 Cataract Kush under them currently. Training will be your best friend in terms of spreading the light effectively. IMOyou`re wasting time by tying to optimally place lighting below cnopy level, spend the time on training the plant to grow as you need it. Feel free to fire off questions, there are much more EFFICIENT ways to optimize this grow my friend

No worries mate, we`re all after results right? :). Hope you enjoy, that Mainlining thread has changed the way I, and many others grow vegetatively. Keep up the good work
