CH9 Humboldt

Hey everyone!

This is my very first post on RIU, but I've been lurking around for quite some time. I'm a fairly seasoned grower, having grown on and off for the last 6 or so years...

Anyhow, I noticed a lot of people around saying CH9 gear was junk, and that they all are hermie prone, blah blah, ect. Well by chance, I happened to get a freebie seed from Attitude recently, and it was CH9 Humboldt. What a perfect way to find out how it grows! I couldn't find too much out about this strain, or if it had any unique phenos. I couldn't really find out ANYTHING, except a ton of people were asking the same questions that I was. So I figured since I'm about 6 weeks into flowering I'd finally let the cat out of the bag!

I did in fact notice a few male pre flowers and I almost scrapped the plant, but I stuck with it, and I'm really glad I did!

Here's a few pics so everyone can see what to expect. This grow I have a CH9 Humboldt and a Greenhouse Himalayan Gold going. Both were Fimmed about a week or so before going into the flower room. The HG is on the left with the more yellowish hue on the pistils, The Humboldt is on the right, with more of a bright white color. They were both vegged under a 150w HPS and Flowering is under a 400w HPS. I noticed on the Attitude's website that the Humboldt looked like it had purple characteristics. My one plant has shown no purple anywhere, and the temps get reasonably cool during dark hours. The HG has a ways to go, but the CH9 is just absolutely COVERED with crystals! I'm thinking it should be about an 8 week plant. I was smart enough to grab two clones off of her, and I'm really glad I did, it's such a sticky fruity plant!

Thanks for looking guys!

I just started germinating my Humboldt today. Although I am a bit disappointed that it isn't as colorful as the picture on the site, I think I might like it.

Your grow looks great. Did you have any problems so far in the grow? What nutes are you using?

Hey ghrnvf,

Thanks! I know what you mean, I was really looking forward to a nice dark pheno, and although it gets really dark green it never has turned purple for me...

I haven't had any major problems with the grow, my setup is pretty dialed in. I did fight stretching a bit after I FIM'd the Humboldt though. As far as nutes go, I use the fox farm trio and some ferti loom products. FF Happy Frog soil as a medium. If you're looking to clone it, I haven't had an easier plant take roots! It was fully rooted in about 5 days, with no misting at all in my clone box.

Let me know if you have anymore questions! I can always post more pics! Haha :D

Yea it seems to have an ok yield so far, not sure if it's gonna really crank up in the last few weeks here, but we'll see I guess.

I grew the Humbolt, vintage 2006,and the Jack. The Humbolt was beautiful until I noticed seeds every fucking where!! !not only did it screw the 3 plants up it also screwed up my mk ultra and sharks breath! I will never ever grow ch9crap again. Really depressed over this disaster!
