CFL's or HPS and MH

If I am growing 6 plants in a DWC hydro system in a closet about 1.5 feet by 6 feet what would be best. A 400watt MH & HPS kit, or 2-3 105watt(400watt equivalent) CFL bulbs. What would yield more, and grow faster? Would the HPS be too hot for that small of an area?

HPS all the way. There is no point in selling yourself short. You will be way more pleased the outcome and will not regret it.

The important factor, how and can you move the air? Those 105's give off alittle bit, but nothing like a 400 watt hps/mh... You have a lot of choices a head of you. If you can move air, like say through the ceiling, intake and exhaust. A 400 watt would be killer! You can cool tube the light etc. You have to make sure your space can handle it... I hate seeing Help threads because somebody put a 400 watt, 600 watt etc in a closet and it's 105 up in that mug.... Cfl's can get a respectable grow, I dont believe to the extent of a HID light used properly in a controlled enviroment though.

Just my 2 cents.

if you use correct ventilation you should be able to keep the heat down. hps will make for a happy yield. either way you go cfls or hps you better have some kinda ventilation for an air exchange. you really dont want your plants just sitting in stale air. its kinda like trying to breathe with a plastic bag on your head. its not that easy. peace.
