CFLS from veg through flowering.

My stealth box is 20 X 20 inches square by 3 1/2 foot tall. I dont have lights yet but I want to try CFLS. I will be growing only 1-2 indica clone plants inside my box at a time. How many bulbs will get me some good results. Please tell me how many watts I need per bulb. I was hoping maybe a setup of 2 2700k bulbs and 2 5600k bulbs each one mounted to a side of my box so the light is coming from all 4 walls. Or do I need at least some mounted to the ceiling of the box.

40 watts per square foot is a good measurement to use. 20 watts per is the minimum.

Y-splitters are a must for a cfl, it doubles your light. Plus you'll also wanna get some mylar and get the most out of your lumens. FIMing, topping and bending your plants would be a good idea.

I have almost the exact set up I grew 2 plants (one indica one sativa) in a 2x2x4 stealth box. I used 2 1650 lumen 5000k bulbs for veg which worked well and when it came time to flower I took out the 5000ks and ran 16300 lumens of 2700k CFLs. Try to keep them within 3-6 inches of the plant for maximum effect and be careful they can burn it if too close. Buy a couple Y splitters it makes it really easy to install alot of light in a small area. Also look at getting one of those massive CFLs that are about $15 at home depot they help alot

Go with four 42 watt bulbs, packed in that small space. With that kind of wattage, you'll get some nice results, using CFLs, even flowering. No, it won't top HIDs, but it'll still be producing denser buds than most CFLs grows you'll see. Hang 2 more from the ceiling, and now we're talking.

hi priest i wrote this post. did you grow the indica and sativa together at the same time in your box?. If so was it hard to maintain 2 different types of plant. You only used 2 bulbs for veg and later only 2 for flowering? was that really enough light for 2 plants. If this is true I think thats pretty cool. I was hoping to use the least amount of light bulbs i can, just hoping they would be real strong. Also what kind of fans did you use for your box. is 2 computer fans enough for my box.
