cfls and seedlings

I have six, 10-day old seedlings sitting 1-2 inches under two 13watt daylight cfls. Some seedlings are bending to the side, would it be necessary to add two more cfls?

they will immediately start to lean or stretch to whatever light source, it's a survival thing all plants do it, but fast growing things like marijuana especially noticeable, I would suggest getting a light directly over each one if you can, or adding a reflector to distribute the light better.
As long as the plants are centered, with only that many lights, you are going to have problems. You are going to need way more lights in the long run anyhow, if you want to keep those plants going.

in the meantime, i've read you should rotate them so they lean different directions. it's intended to increase stem strength. i rotate all my plants around noon so it's a little like the sun is on the other side of the sky.

ok thanks for the help guys. I do have a metal halide that I'm going to pull out in a week or so. But before that I might get two more softwhite cfls and get more reflectors going, does that sound good?

it will be fine young in the plants life but if you want to grow watermelons get at least a 600 ;)
