CFL Success!!

Thanks to everyone who helped me out during my latest grow. Special thanks to GK and fdd2blk whom I bugged a few times each via PM. They are very helpful folks!

The results are in as all bud is in glass jars and has been for up to a week and a half now. I declare this grow a huge success!!!!

The grow consisted of 2 Dutch Passion plants -- 1 Strawberry Cough and 1 Mazar. I used 4 42W CFL's and a single 125W CFL to light the grow area, soil, mylar, and FoxFarm nutrients. This was all in a bedroom closet with a fan blowing upward and away from the grow.

My goal (and therefore my measure of success) was to grow a significant amount of quality bud for personal use.

Total Mazar yield was ~43 grams dry weight.
Total Strawberry Cough was ~60 grams dry weight.

Buds are dense, beautifully manicured, and smell amazing. The Mazar has gotten a decent cure by this point and smells of sweet skunk. The Strawberry Cough smells like... well, strawberries... but still has a bit of bite and needs to cure for a while longer.

This is by far the best weed I've ever smoked. Should last me a while. :)

High-quality CFL grows are possible if you have enough light per plant.

I can't be arsed to take pics of the final product right now, but I might get morivated if enough people ask.

I'm happy to answer questions about my experience, if that would be helpful to anyone.

haha Im just fucking around. I just like to look at pics. How tall were your plants at harvest? How tall were they when you put them at 12/12? I am just about there I think..

They were around 8" at 12/12.

The Strawberry Cough is mostly sativa and (unfortunately) grew to about 3 feet. The Mazar is 100% indica and grew to about 2 feet. Both were topped once at 4 weeks.

I learned that mixing sativa and indica in a CFL grow can be challenging due to uneven heights. Nonetheless, I got as creative as I could with light arrangement and made it work.

yeah the uneven heights and arranging the lights is a pain with cfls.that is why i need an hps to just let em grow and not fool with moving the lights.

Here's the pics!

First pic is the Mazar, last 2 are Strawberry Cough.

After emptying a jar of Mazar for the pic, I'd like to retract my comment about manicuring. I could have done a better job with that plant on cleaning up leaves. The Cough looks great though, don't it? :)

I also noticed today too that the Mazar is starting to get golden in color; the green is becoming less and less. I hear this is what you want! ;)

I hear ya, but for me the tradeoff of lower heat and significantly less need for closet ventilation is a total payoff. :)

Theres an old poker saying that I just made up

'1 dollar won is a 10 dollars lost, 100 dollars won is a 1000 dollars lost, but 10,000 dollars lost may have only been 1'

It sounds shit but it has meaning; don't think what could have been and be happy with what you have.
