whats better cfl or hps? is envirolite a cfl?
HPS with out a shadow of a doubt brother. Its worth the cash!!!!
whats the difference?cfls cheaper to run and a less hotter heat?.......neva really put alot of thought into the bulbs i use..
what were u using a 400 w hps?My hps does get hot, but I can keep it cool. It's puttin out aroud 50,000 lumens from one bulb. Do the math and try to get 50,000 out of cfl's. The heat generated by all those cfl's i'm sure would be a lot more than the one hps. My energy bill only went up 5 or 6 bucks a month with it too.
I am using an Envirolight 200w because I use a small cab. With this bulb I dont have to worry too much about heat and I can still get nice buds
what is the difference tho?i looked for a hps but it always says its for hydroponics.....or does it not matter what you use it for?is hps just a stronger light?
The hps is a much stronger light and u can use it in soil, or hydro. When ur using cfl's, u gotta keep the bulbs super close to the plant to avoid stretching because the cfl's don't have the lumens the hps does to penetrate all the parts of the plant.
CFLs for seedling, HPS for veg/flowering.
Mh is preferable for vegetative growth, but if you can only afford one, go with the HPS.
