CFL or Floresent

Ok I've got 5 fast buds and 1 afghan kush ryder germinating right now. Should i use about 5 or 6 44 watt cfls or get some florescent lights, will this be enough light, which will have better potency and yeild? I cant get a hps so thats out of the question

doesnt CFL stand for compact florescent lighting?

yea but im talking about like t-5s for florescents, the bulbs for cfl(ones you put in reg light socket, swirly)

t-5s have way more lumens. I veg with two 4 foot 4 bulb t-5s and they work great

which would be best for flowering, i know the results would be nowhere near what they would be with hps but this is the best i can do, and could you give me some specs on the right lights i should use

is it the best you can do because of funds? or space? if you have the money get a 6 bulb 4 foot t5. 54 watts a bulb with low heat. they also sell 2 foot 4 bulb t5s and 2 bulb 2 foot t5s. i think those would be better than the plug in lights. watever those are

I would do a sea of green type grow also

These are the kind of bulbs i currently have and am talking about, i will go to lowes tomorow and check out what they got, thanx for all the info

Pesonally to flower I would use cfls since you can hang them all around her and get more light into areas that you may not get much light using tubes since flouros loose so much intensity the further away they are from your plant

they wont sell t5s at lowes. you will have to go to a hydro store or order offline. I geuss if those bulbs work for you then more power to you. i seen a picture of a plat on here that was grown with like 10 of those lights and it looked pretty bad ass. I run 7 1,000s hps and have never flowered with florescent lighting. but if i did i would use a high output t5 no t8

i bout a t12 light for now then they get bigger ill add another and all my cfls in with it, if neccesary ill get more cfls if its not enough light for them when their flowering, thank you for all the advice and good luck on future grows

ca$hcropper is right...since u already know both forms of light are rather weak id try to keep as much foliage lit up as possible and hang CFL lights all around her during flowering, that t5 fixture will just be too weak for any foliage penetration... i use a small home made cfl light hood for rooting my clones and early vegging but i wouldnt flower with that because i have a 400 watt system as well, although my grower buddy veg's with the longer t5 style lights, i dont like the stretch and node spacing he gets compared to mine,...

Hi dude how big is your area for your grow is it big enough to fit a T5 Fluorescent Grow Light.

This single unit light will produce big fat nugs as good as any HPS when you keep the tips of you plants inches from the tubes

What about L.E.D?

buy a few CFLs and fixtures to put them in each week, about $10 for each light with a bulb you can hang at wal mart. most of my fixtures were 7 bucks, with bulbs around 3 for 9 bucks, it evens out

but those 42 and 55 watt 2700ks are something too
