cfl/led grow update

I have 5 plants doing very nice. using a 180 watt led in the center with 6 large 67 watt 2700k cfls around the perimeter. nice little buds forming everywhere. now looking for some advice...i keep the 180 watt led in the center and it gives most light to primarily to the center plant and then the cfls do mostly the outside plants. im sure the led light reaches the other plants and also the cfls do reach the center plant. I do notice that the plants on the outside are a little taller and do have slightly larger buds forming which tell me the cfls are working better then the led. So should i remove the led from center and add more cfls ??? I know the led has a mixture of reds and blues so maybe its a good thing to leave some blues for potency but not to sure. also i may just start to rotate plants around but i wanted to leave the plant in the center to see what happens.. im going to try to post some pics

More watts always increases yield as long as you can control the heat. Make sure that LED is as close as possible and same with the cfls.

throw some pictures up too!

Just because the CFL buds are taller and larger doesnt mean that CFLs are out performing your LED.

I have the same set up as you, just slightly scaled down. 130watt Led panel in the center with 13w 2700k Cfls for side lighting.

Sure CFL buds might look bigger, but they will not fill, and will end up airy. LED buds on the other hand, while typically smaller, will be much much much DENSER. I've also noticed that buds under LEDs frost up a hell of a lot more than they do under CFLs.

Take that as you will, just my 2 cents

heat is not a problem...The led is about 1' away . That is what the manufacture calls for and the cfls are a close as possible without touching the plants...Thanks

since this is my first grow in almost 20 years i may keep the led in so i can get some final results . But you make some good points regarding the the bud sizes and frost effect

I feel like youd be able to lower it another 6" or so. I have a 305w panel thats about 6" away from my seedlings with no bad results.

CFLs probably shouldn't be that close... use the hand test (put your hand that close to the CFL and see if your hand heats up) If it heats up then you probably wanna back it away. And Pics please?

i feel that if i take my led ufo down to 6" then some of the plants on the outside will lose a litttle led light. id like the other plants to get a little led too
