Hello all. So far a a 250w hps combined with 2 100w cfl's have been in play. The lights have just been switched and I wanted to make sure that it was safe to keep the plants under the cfl's even though it does not emit the blue light nessesasry for larger nugs, like the hps does. Basicly is it still helpful too keep these suplemantal cfl's?

HPS emits red spectrum, not blue, and CFLs can vary depending on their colour temperature. Are yours more red or blue (2700k or 6500k)?

Blue would probably be more beneficial, since the HPS is putting out mainly red, and it's good to have a mixed spectrum, but even if the cfls are red it will be fine, and will add to your yield.

Supplemental lighting can work wonders compared to one single point source. I'd keep them in play if i was you.
