Hey everyone so today I received what I thought was a pretty good deal I got a 200 watt CFL grow bulb 6400k with this hood socket for $30 now the problem I have is the socket for the bulb has no way of staying secure in the hood wondering if any one would know a possible solution or what the fitting piece is called IMG_20160331_135910.jpg IMG_20160331_140052.jpg 14594476088461257789061.jpg

Thanks guys I'm gonna try the rubber washer idea, guarantee you it's gonna be a plumbing part haha, and if worst comes to worst it'll have to.be a vertical light

Over the metal that's already there?
Don't put mylar. That is dimpled or hammer tone aluminium. You won't gain much from mylar.

I would just get a new socket for the light to screw into. Go to Lowes and look in the lighting section. I'm sure you could find a base that you could.make work.

Ahh ok didn't put that into consideration so are you saying what's on there is already crap? I was thinking I could also remove it and leave it white

And yes I'll definitely scan some.home improvement stores

I mean leave it like it is. It will reflect just fine. Better than white and what you would gain with mylar is not enough to justify the work.

Sometimes you gotta customize some shit to make it work. Heres a little example, find a sleeve that fits over the mogul mount (like a pvc pipe) and make sure it fits in the hood's mounting hole, slip it all in and jb weld that sucker from both ends.

Well for now I decided to go with the cheapest and easiest solution (don't judge haha) this seems to be working for my set up1459539537586-1313708549.jpg 14595396519061256736818.jpg
