Would 12 42W 2700K be enough CFL for flowering 2-3 plants? I plan to veg for about a month.

Thanks,

That's an 8 bulb and 4 bulb 4 foot T5's right? I would imagine that you would be able to fit 3 large ones under that footprint.

Jixan: you've got the right light color/frequency for flowering but a dozen lights makes for a very busy hookup. Have you considered the simplicity of a single 4' long 4 tube T-5 fixture? You have the same light coming off of a single cord. I like neat and simple and it's working for my three. I hope that helps. HSA

Yes that would be enough ...I would only use a couple in the begining and add more and more as they get bigger

I'm growing 4 plants with less light than that
So 12 42watters would only get better results
Check out my Sig.

It's very possible !!

I completely agree with you on keeping the electrical clean and simple. I have 6 brooder lights already as well as the CFL's already.

Can I take the brooder light cords and daisy chain them together, instead of having to plug in all six lamps?

Dude why not buy the 200 watt not equivalent that's 200 watt real CFL bulbs instead.. There awesome.. I'm flowering 5-5 plants with the right now.. With good soil you will get a easy inch a day growth or more.. Just don't fuck up your plants and stunt them with to many nuts..

I don't think the 'Daisy Chain' (Series circuit) is a good idea with AC electricity. When lights are connected like that, the Voltage per light is divided by the number of lights.. E.g. 240 ÷ 12 = 20v
So that'd be 20V to each light. Depending on the voltage of your mains and bulb, it won't give the correct output if the voltage is decreased. However you can connect in a Parallel circuit, which would give each of the lights the same voltage.
I'm just going off what I learned in College.. Hope that was easy enough to understand.. Shouldn't be too much hassle doing them in a Parallel circuit, if not, GOOGLE IT! :D xD
