CFL grow Closet--Fertilizer challenge

My first grow Journal. I have some alright seeds from a buddy of mine. outdoor closet 4 by 4 by 12. I have a fan blowing in there, its a closet I will open the door daily for fresh air, probably a couple times a day. I have four plants. They are babies about 1inch and a half tall, growin nicely, added the fan today so they could sway a bit, and stiffen up those stalks. I have eight 26 watt cfls, huddled around them, as they get bigger I am going to have the four plants about a foot apart, two cfls between each plant toward the bottom so those inner nugs get fat, then I am going to have two about to get those upper nugs fat, no part of the plant will not be getting direct cfl light. This shoudl increase my yield substantially. I am using four different fertilizer combinations, that most any person can get at their local hardware store. First off the soil is a basic potting soil, they are currently in one gallon containers but will be transplanted to 5 gallons in a couple weeks. I got some generic miracle grow for plant one (oprah), I have some Schultz 10-15-10 plant food plus for plant two (Kathy Lee), plant three I am going to use a combination of both miracle grow and the schultz see what happens. Then on plant four I am going to water with bong water and a splash of beer. See what happens. Here are the babies today

made a few changes, the babies look awesome, added a piece of white paper under at the bases to see if it helps the stalks get a little fatter, they look goood but the main vein is key. few pics of the setup, the closet, and a baby

looking good man, i was amused by the idea of feeding one bong water, will give it a taste of where its gonna end up! ha! not sure about the white sheet though, im sure it will work, but maybe it will absorb light as well, maybe peruse the Growing FaQ section?
Peace, Jolly

The sheet will not reflect light.

Check the lighting part of the FAQ, you have alot of lights but you're losing alot of it.

As for wanting a fatter stem, you need to have a fan blowing on the plants lightly to simulate wind. In time this will make the stalk have more girth.

Good luck.

Ok so I understand the sheet absorbs the light, well I am poor this month, this is the best I could do, I did find some y sockets for my shop lights so I added another cfl, I got four of the 1830 lumens says color rendering >80 what does that mean, I put a pic of the box up, check it out let me know. This setup should still work for me, I made a makeshift cover with cardboard, then used the shiny side of foil to line it, he I bet it absorbs less than the sheet.. can I keep the cfls super close.

i think the colour rendering thing probably refers to the spectrum of light but i couldnt tell you if it was warm of cool? the box looks good though you have plenty of light so i think the white sheet will work fine anyway!
Keep it up! Jolly

Babies are looking good, at least two of them, the bong water one is kinda small and not shooting up as much as the shultz and miracle grow combo plant. I am going to start using the schultz and miracle grow combo on all of them, look how healthy the big one is, I need to water more, the big one has a little yellow on the edge of the leaves, I think the new cfls were too close and might have burned them a tiny bit. I moved them about 3 inches away so that should be good. I also am trying another little experiment and putting pieces of foil at the base of the plants to reflect up, little thinking outside the box never hurt anyone. it might be the next best thing.

I am using some good soil, I dont think its as important as lighting though. I have this stuff called grow power I add to my soil.

First off the plants look great, not sure why not to use the foil Jolley, it seems to be working great. I am seeing noticeable difference in the plants daily, they are charging nicely. So I went into the room yesterday and it was super hot, so what I did was I froze 3- 2 gallon water jugs, then I place one right behind my little computer fan blowing on the plants, all joking aside, it cooled the room (closet) perfectly, I change out the bottles twice a day, and place another full frozen one directly behind the fan. I will show pics of it later today as well as an updated picture of the baby GIRLS. How big do I let them get before I can top them off? I am going to let them grow until the 1st sunday of july, then start flowering, so they have basically two weeks to get going. They should be about 8 to 12 inches by then. maybe I will give them three weeks more of growing before I flower them. we will see.
