CFL = fire hazards?

I heard cfls have been known to cause some fires. Any reliable safe brands you guys know of? Im getting paranoid thinking about leaving them on 18 hours a day when knowones around and the place goes up in smoke!

i have mine set for 18/6. i have had zero fires

i have cfls running 24/7 for the last 3 months. no problem. they have really low heat radiation and are the top of the line bulbs foor homes.

im not sure whereyou would of heard that but i think you have nothign to worry about man.

They can cause fires if used in dimmers...now they have specific CFL bulbs for dimmers.

They sometimes explode during power surges.

the small watt one here on 240 v are good , the bigger 200/300 growlights are fragile
