CFL Efficiency - A Stoner's Challenge

So! I took everything out and cleaned it today... Also watered the Flowering plants with just water...They have some small yellowing on the very tips of the leaves.. Wasn't sure if the cause was mild heat stress or nutrient burn.. So I am backing off a bit for a couple days.
Gonna buy some molasses today at the store, and in a couple days water them with that and their nutes.

I also managed to get some pictures of each separate group of vegging plants.. I will try to do this from now on every day or two. I want to be able to time-lapse when I am done.

That is all for now... Time to make some breakfast! bongsmilie

I don't know about this cfl thing anymore. Most grows with the lower wattage cfl's give like 5 to 6 grams. The irony of this is say it takes 3 months from seed to harvest. Now you factor in the cost for the setup and the additional cost to your electricity bill and you could have bought 2 maybe 3 ounces Over those 3 months. Don't known if anyones following me but the only cfl plants that I saw get huge was ones where they were alone in tiny spaces with flat white paint around the whole enclosure. I'm talking about 1x1 areas with like 5 or 6 feet of height. Those plants both got to over 4 feet which made some hps grows look bad. Anyway good luck

Hey thanks for dropping in!

I had done all the math on my grow, so lemme fill you in.

I setup 3 weeks veg 7/8 weeks flower, for a total of around 77 days. Now this is ~2 1/2 months. I spend right near 70$ for the entire grow cycle. So I need to get 7 grams (Going rate for ok shit around here is $10 a gram) for this to break even.

My ABYSMAL first grow harvested 6 grams after chopping them at 6 weeks flowering. If I would have let them grow for a week or two more, I could have harvested a couple more grams. So yah.

You can definitely make an argument that CFLs are inefficient...

All I can say is stick around for a few months, winter is coming and my heat problems will be a thing of the past! I honestly think with heat under control, I can harvest an OZ easily if I fill my flowering room with females. If that were the case, and it were good shit, I could get about $320 dollars value from them... or about a 250 dollar profit on my electricity investment. It'll add up. Plus, I spend a couple hundred dollars on smoke in that time... So if I can keep myself and my woman lit as we please, and maybe have a little left to sll to her parents, then I am gonna be a happy man. bongsmilie
