High everyone!!!
Im so excited to get involved with this online community, Im a long time reader but a newbie poster. I have read through the entire FAQ many times and have spent dozens if not hundreds of hours browsing forums.
OK down to business. I have been filling my head with mass amounts of information from this site, others, books, magazines and even some youtube videos for about the past month or so.
After lots of thinking and many nights sleeping on a decision, I have finally decided to clean all the clothes out of my closet and use it as a grow room.
My closet dimensions are 30" deep, 96" wide and about 70" of usable height. My plan is to hopefully end up with 4 females and use about 1/2 of the closet to flower them, the other 1/4 to 1/2 for the clones/seedlings.
So far I have decided on 6 26W CFL bulbs, and 2 65W CFL bulbs from lowes. Im still researching a bit on soil & nutes to find what will work best for me and my somewhat low budget.
Here are a couple problems I seem to be having a terribly hard time finding answers to, otherwise I wouldn't post asking:
1) My main concern is fresh air getting to the plants. I really don't have any way to ventilate the closet as I would prefer to keep the door closed. I plan to use a tall oscillating fan as well as a smaller high velocity desk fan for circulation I just don't know how well it will bring fresh air to my babies.
2) The other concern is with the smell. I had originally been thinking of a closed box design but the closet will provide so much more height. This closet is in my bedroom, without having a vent of some sort what is a decent way to control the odor? I bought some active carbon a while back but I dont know how I would go about using it now that Im using my closet.
I will be updating this or starting a new thread as soon as my seeds finish germinating to document the grow. Everyone here seems so helpful and don't hesitate to slap me around a bit and let me know if I am asking a question for the 100th time. I try my best not to maybe that's why Ive waited so long to post.
Ill work on getting some pics up of the empty closet maybe tomorrow.
OK sorry for the novel, look forward to hearing any thoughts & ideas.
Thanks
