CFL ? Ballast?

Hey CFL growers .
Ive been searching the forums for a answer of my question. But with no luck so i thought i would make a thread my self. Does CFL lights need a ballast and if it does. Do a 200w CFL needs a ballast. Im new at growing and im never afraid of asking questions hehe. Peace

Yea if they are more than 100 watts the part that you screw it in to needs to be bigger

All CFL's are self ballasting, however the base where you screw it in will have to have a larger screw in spot called the mogul. hope that helps!! if so i could use a tip on the ol' scales

as said above, you can get up to 105w cfl(not all are like this, most 105w do need ballast, but they have a 105w now that is. i cant wait till the 300w's reach that stage) that will screw into a standard light sockets. however you need a mogul socket on cfls bigger than that......for now. just make sure you know what your buying, some 65w bulbs need mogul bases and like i mentioned above almost all the 105w do still, you gotta get the specific one.

yeah like im using a 300w self ballasting bulb and the conection i use is a e40 conection mate.I also use the E40 conection for my 125w self ballasting bulbs
