CFL 42 days in... more light, training the main cola, resin

Hey everyone, this is the latest update on my first ever grow. Using the "Buds For Less" book with a few of my own modifications.

BTW, please forgive me if I'm blowing up this forum too much. I'm having loads of fun with this and really appreciate all the helpful comments and advice I've received on here.

Anywho, here are the latest updates:

- Added one more light to complete the coverage of the main cola at all angles. This brings me to 9-42w CFLs of mixed colors.

- Trained the main cola to bend at a 90deg angle.. This has helped reduce the plant's height. Funny thing is right before the lights went up I checked it and the new growth was already pointed back up, as if to say "sorry pal, I'm going this way."

- Signs of resin formation are beginning to appear on all of the colas. See the pics.

- I'm preparing to clear out some of the necrotic leaves at the bottom of the plant. Is this okay to start doing?

Also..... if anyone has a copy of the BFL book, would you mind checking out my pics versus "Day 42"?? I really do feel like I'm ahead of schedule.

As always, a big thanks and much love to all the CFLers on here.

unknown strain (bagseed).. although I wish I could find someone who knows.

I'm using nine 42-watt CFL's of varying temperature.. probably about 2/3 2700k and the rest 6500k.

Thanks man, I will say I've been pretty anal about the whole thing, although with CFLs I think you have to be (another downside I suppose). Some of the extra growth I attribute to having more lights on a single plant. Good news is the whole grow is very stealth.

This is my first crack at this, but I'll gladly share my experiences if it'll help.

Just this one plant.. I tried to get another started but I messed up my clones and didn't have any more viable seeds. Honestly I've had fun just working on it and watching it grow. The product at the end will be a nice added bonus.

I probably spend an 1 1/2 a day working on her... some staring in amazement, some tweaking, some studying.

And please ask away, don't mind at all.

Hey thanks.. the space I'm growing in is 48"h, 17"w, 20"d. My temps have gotten as high as 84 but usually stay around 80. Usually the higher temps are because I'm there working (and thus breathing) on it.

Subscribed!! I'm seriously f-ing pumped about this. I'm looking at building an L shaped cab under my stairs. I got pretty much everything i need except the wood and seeds. I've even got a thermostat with an outlet on it so keeping temps should be no problem at all. Hopefully I can get the same results as you and SMB!!! Def would like to see a pic kind of stepped back so I can check out the whole setup.

Nine CFLs for one plant vs. eight CFL for 3 plants is probably why your lady is growing so quickly.....looks like a nice set up you have there, what are you using to keep the temps down, and for exhaust?

just the single clip fan you see in the picture.. At the height of my veg stage the temp was 82.. but now that some leaves have cleared out it stays around 77.
