Ceramic vs Plastic Pots?

Is there much of a difference in what you decide to pot ur plants in? Ceramic, Clay, Plastic?

clay pots are very pores. they will dry out alot faster than plastic

I USUALLY grow everything (mary jane and everything else) in clay because its neutral right? But my plants now I am growing all in plastic pots, I just washed them and disinfected them after I bought them...Ceramic I guess would stay cooler, because of its properties....(example, plastic vs. ceramic plates....) i dont see MUCH of a difference..
