ceramic metal halide vs standard metal halide veg

how do typical mh lights compare to cmh (ceramic metal halide) during vegetation. What are their main differences? Which would produce better results in veg? Also, how do cmh lights compare to a light such as the Hortilux Blue for veg?

they are not widely used because of price, a standard mh or even a hps is good enough for veg.

i used a 400cmh as supplementary light in flower, it made my plants foxtail like crazy so i got rid of it.

it works really well for cuttings in the early stages, bushier than with a hps but not as tall.

I've heard some people say a CMH light has more blue light than a regular MH light and more red than an HPS light, which would make it THE ultimate light to own. Is it true?

to be honest i have no clue how these lights work, mine seemed plain white to the eye.

if you mix a pure red, pure green, and pure blue light together, you will see white light. that's how light works. white light is the mixture of all spectrums of light from red to violet. MH lights are know for having more blue light in them, and HPS lights are known for having more red light in them. I know that CMH lights put out a nice full spectrum, but I was wondering if they put out the same amount, less, or more blue light than a comparable standard MH. And also do they put out the same, less, or more red light than a comparable HPS light?

Yes.

I replaced both my MH and HPS with CMH and they work quite well. It's 2-400w in a large Adjust-A-Wing, one MH and one HPS, both with magnetic ballast.
