i use cornsyrup myself, they would be more akin, nd more useful for your microbe population. sure you could use syrup but i would pair it with something that feeds the fungi also, like kelp meal.

I live remotely.in oz, I have to find substitutes ....
Was reading an old timers recipe the other day which consisted of molasses and vegemite...might try it..cheers for the reply..
