Ok so I gotta brag on Cat, he built this PVC scrog and I'm telling you it is cool as hell! He had pieces laying all over the floor. Next thing I know he's done, has it folded up, takes it in the tent and pops it into place. A perfect fit! Wall to wall, corner to corner with the tent walls hugging it. It sure is nice living with an engineer! 
The CC's are much bigger now since he put them in flower, I'll do my best to get a new progress pic up tonight when the lights come back on.

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween! Our GS had another holiday litter, this time she delivered the first pup around noon on Halloween 
Got some really nice shatter too, Cat did up some QWISO from our GG#4 trimmings, it's super sweet and very smooth! My nectar collector is getting quite the workout. I whipped up 2 pounds of some danky good budder too, we had some yummy chocolate chip cookies for dessert last nice so we're both having a budder hangover day
Got a pic update on the tent, these are CC's...we're trying out the MegaCrop that we won, they seem to like it so far! Had a bad pH swing about a month ago because a friend got high and incorrectly measured the nutes

I'm doing good, trying to keep busy myself. Never stopped running. I actually just got done building a new flower box, built-in drainage, it's very nice, very professional setup. Currently doing my last run in my closest then it'll be the new flower box.
I've been running Kosher Kush from DNA Genetics for a few runs now. Super strong smoke, very smooth, average yielder. About a week out from next harvest. Last harvest was my first to hit 1 gram per watt, should only get better.
My first run in the flower box will be a strain I'm naming "Ice Cream Cake." It's Wedding Cake crossed with Gelato 33 from Seedjunky Genetics. So excited for those, they are about a month into veg.

A flower box eh? Sounds pretty damn cool, any pics? We're running Cotton Candy right now and have a couple of others we're mulling over for our next run (Kosher Glue, C99) the C99 appears to be the pink pheno (bomb!) but I'm really interested in the KG, I'm betting it will be some stinky stuff too.
That's pretty good yield for soil! You still running HPS?
The GG#4 we harvested turned out pretty damn awesome. Talk about some sticky stuff! The stuff is nearly impossible to trim for all the resin but it makes some killa QWISO. We've been going back and forth between pressing buds and making ISO, but to be honest I think the ISO is best. I've gotten pretty good at making butter, the folks in Cali can't get enough of my cookies. I have a feeling I'm going to be baking more and more..lol

All those strains sound amazing. Yeah GG#4 as a nice rep, got to try some a few months back on a trip. Kosher Glue sounds especially nice.
I'll have to get the pictures later, waiting for and email back from Photobucket, forgot my information haha. It's pretty nice though, it's basically a 4x4, just a tad bigger, and height goes up to the ceiling. I have a basin at the bottom I built at an angle and sealed up to catch water. The pots sit on spaced 2 x 4s, above the basin, that I made removable for easy cleaning underneath. Its a beast.
I haven't ran a HPS for a while. I built my LED lights and haven't looked back. Draws a lot less power, zero heat issues ever, and I've gotten much better quality overall. And yes still in soil. All organic, all teas for feeding, super easy. Smoke is always extremely smooth and burns clean and white.
I love making edibles! I have a very nice Levo infuser I use. Precise temp and time control and looks slick. I also got a tCheck device, which I suggest if you make a lot of edibles. It allows you to dose your butter/oil/alcohol tinctures at home. They are actually releasing an updated version that will test flower and concentrates.
I've given up qwiso. I could make quality but yields were so so, and scraping/collecting it was a pain. Plus I never could ACTUALLY tell if all the solvent was out because I can't get it tested. I absolutely love making rosin though. One of my Kosher Kush phenos I'm keeping around yields an average of 24%.

I've never heard of the Levo infuser, is that like a magic butter machine? I just use a crock pot myself. It'd be nice if they made a contraption that not only infused the butter but strained it too
I'm definitely going to look into the tCheck device, I saw something about those a while back. Be cool to see how much is in my cookies, I use 2 oz flower/trim to one pound of butter. The Levo infuser does strain it for you too. You press a button and it pours out. Similar to how coffee machine pours out.
The tCheck is great. It also allows me to tweak my infusing. I use to infuse for long periods but found out 4hours is enough to extract all the goodies. Typically a half ounce of good trim will get me roughly 700mg total.
Yeah I feel like I'm pressing almost everyday. Working on making my own press, then I can press larger amounts. I also use the rosin chips for butter, they are near the same strength as my trim.

I'm sure you could replace your 2k HPS with 1200w of COB no problem. The wattage isn't as big as deal as the actual strength of the light, which is rated in par/ppfd/umole values. The benefit of COBs is that they are more efficient and take less power to get the same results. Because of the efficient they last much longer also, and you can also mess around with mixing different spectrums of light. The biggest thing is that they are much more expensive up front. Like you said, experiments for down the road. Well worth the money though in my opinion.
Man I'd love some 3x5 plates. Im still stuck using a hair straightener with lock n grip pliers! I can only press about 0.8 at a time. 200 - 210f for 2min and I get some beautiful material. I have three different penis of my Kosher Kush I run, but one in particular is a great rosin and edibles maker. Average 24% from rosin. Also takes less trim for same strength edibles of my other penis. That's the pheno im keeping around while I run these Ice Cream Cake seeds.
The tank is pretty small on the infuser and I was worried at first but i havent had any issues yet with over stuffing it. I've put 16g of trim in with 5oz of butter with no problem. It holds 16oz of butter but if you try to put 2oz of trim for that I'm not sure it would all fit. My plan for that problem is to start making hash from the trim first. This way I can get the strength high, as well as have a better/cleaner tasting end product.
Also, for the rosin chips. I used 5oz of butter with an ounce of rosin chips and that batch of butter tested with 1500mg total. And I would say 90% of the chips were the same strain.
