He's adorable. Get him a catnip plant or make a cat grass mat for him. Mine sniff the plants but go for the 3 catnip plants and cat grass I have around. Even if it's indoor, it could deter him by satisfying his need to nibble. This is two of my stoner felines....loving the 'nip. Not goin near the ladies.

Funny. I planted some a few weeks or so. I just need to a bigger pot to transplant it. I might put it in 2 different pots. I haven't shown it to him yet. There's basil and lettuce next to it.

Mine like me to tear it up and release the aromas, other cats just chow down on my cat nip plant. I have a bunch of catnip bc I have 6 cats.

They love that shit and it's totally distracting from chowing on other plants. Cats naturally chew up plants. But the nip seems to help ease the urges.

He's never bothered any of our indoor plants so I might be creating a monster by doing this. I keep him out of my rooms because of the hair. I prefer my buds hairless.

It really depends on where you live. We have a ton of wetlands and wildlife around our house. Our first cat matty was eaten by a fisher cat or coyote when she was only 3 years old. I wouldn't let them outside if we were next to a busy road either, I've seen a few dead ones that have been hit by cars. The two we have now are both indoors. Roger is part mainecoon and has long fluffy fur, he gets a ton of knots in his fur from just rolling around in the basement, couldn't imagine what it would like if he was outdoors, especially with all the plant burrs we get in the fall.
Eve is full grown and about the size of Roger when he was a kitten lol she is tiny. A hawk or owl would have no problem picking her up.

Yes, there's definitely dangers outdoors, so if that's taken into account it might be half the lifespan for an indoor cat on average.
My cat's pretty smart. We lived in town and he stayed away from the cars and shit.
Now we're in the mountains with lots of wildlife around us. When we first came to the mountains he didn't come back for 3 days once. Obviously a fox had chased him up a tree and he was scared to get down. Well he came home and was happy to be back, lol.
What got me worried was when a saw a mountain lion jump across my driveway into the neighbors yard and snatched one of their feral cats. It was crazy shit. It happened so fast. Then he took it and sat down under one of our trees and ate it. Only took him about a minute to devour that kitty. He didn't give a shit that I was right there with my flashlight on him. I yelled at him, and he casually decided he would slowly walk down the hill.
I tried to keep him in before it got dark after that.

My cat was originally an outside cat. Right after my old cat was hit by a car (I know point made huh, lol.), I was outside smoking a cig in SD where it was like 10-20 below zero. And this little kitten came out from under the house we were renting just meowing up a storm. He was tiny so I'm guessing the mother had here kittens under our house. Right before my last cat was killed I found a dead kitten that he had gotten and killed on our walkway. So I'm guessing that was probably my cats brother or sister.
Anyways, my cat loves everyone and it's obvious that he really remembers that he was saved by us. He'd be on your lap 24/7 if you let him.

Beutiful.....a "Tortoise Shell"....no expert,however, 4 cats, one ancient hound in house ( 2 Bassethounds coming in next two weeks and 7 feral cats (outdoor/warm houses/wet-dry food/water/caught and fixed/loved........getting corny......had a great bird my mother-in-law killed and two pet rabbits,indoor-outdoor-free range......... my hounds got a hold of..........what a mess tug-o-war makes....felt bad about that...what a f'ing way to go. Blahblahblah.....I better shut the f up......damn weed.
