Caregiver question in Colorado

Hello all, new to the forum here. I am going to try to get my card this week and have a concern over who to name my caregiver. I don't need one, I plan on supplying myself. However, I stopped at a dispensary/clinic today and was given their offer. If I name them my caregiver, I pay $90 for the doctor visit and after 3 months get 7 grams free a month. Also, they will give me 6 clones to grow at home. If I don't name them, it's $130 for the doctor. My understanding is that if I name them my caregiver, THEY will be able to grow my 6 plants, not me. Is that right? If so, how can they offer me clones? I feel that if the cops came over I would not be legal as I named them my caregiver. It seems they are acting as if they can grow 6 and I can grow 6, but this doesn't sound right to me. Can anyone clarify?

The whole patient/ caregiver situation in CO may get kinda crazy very soon with Senator Romer messing things up.

Dispensaries NEED people to sign over their caregiver rights so they can increase their grow yield. If you can grow your own or make your own edibles, WHY sign over your rights to them for a few measly grams? And you are correct about plant counts...if you sign over your rights you give THEM your right to grow for you, not worth it IMO.

no you will not beable to grow for ur self if you appoint them your caregiver that sounds like a sucky deal they are tryin to get u to agry to send me a pm if you r looking for a caregiver that produces quality and will take care of you better than any bootleg dispensary ever could

Great thanks, they are really trying to do people dirty by promising to give them 6 clones. That's what threw me off about this. Sign your rights to them, then they give you 6 clones and tell you to grow at home when they are the ones that are legal and you are not.

Everyone that posted in this thread is WRONG about you being able to grow.
The law states that COLLECTIVELY you and a caregiver may possess 6 plants. So you could tell them to grow 3 and you will grow 3. Put it in writing and notarize it. Then everyone is legal.
I believe that if lEO ever came to your place and theirs at the same time that you being the patient would have more standing in law then a caregiver does.
But do what you want.

Yes, laced that's what I want to know. I'm just going to pay the extra $40 to not name anyone. They say they will give you the clones, I wonder if after 3 months or so when you are eligible to get them, they say you can't legally own any.

This is the main problem in Colorado.

It is not about the patient in need - everything going on now is all about the dispensary owners, Doctors, and growers making money at the expense of the patients.

There is way more marijuana available thru these folks than there should be legally - these folks are screwing the patients for their own gain.

I am looking to start a "true coop" where patients can get together and grow their own medicine instead of letting these people sell the patient's marijuana to others.

All of the problems facing medical patients are being caused by those who want to profit from the suffering of patients.

you mean like say there's 4 people and 3 name the 4th one there caregiver and he grow's for them

I have experience growing, and would teach the others so they could share the work, and the medicine.

I also would grow for those too sick to do the work, and supply them with their part of the collective grow for the actual cost of the grow.
(electricity, nutes, pots or whatever)

This is the way all medical marijuana programs should work - these laws were put in place for the patients, and not so some could profit at the expense of the patients.

you come off as you dont have much expeience with growing and the costs i would agree if the ounce of weed is $600

Exactly what makes you think i have no experience growing?

I have grown my own for a long time, and know to the penny how much it costs to grow.

You are Obviously just trying to drum up business for your rip-off caregiver services.

Young punks like you think you know everything - but you have proved yourself to be just plain ignorant.

$600/ounce? What medium are you using, gold nuggets?

I know a few caregivers that are happy making $200/ounce or less, which more than covers the costs. Guess it depends on your outlook on the whole money vs. compassion issue.
