The rep system is pretty silly as far as I can tell. I don't care and I don't look to see who has rep or what. You can tell by peoples posts and how they talk whether or not they know their stuff. The number of posts could mean they just yack a lot, and the number of reps could just mean they're funny or something or people like them, doesn't really mean they are master growers.

Plus many people are very experienced in one area (the way they are used to growing) and complete novices in another. (I'm just learning hydro, and before I used to always grow in dirt and always the same way so there's much I still have to learn.)

Hell I'm new here, my join date is very new, but I do have 30 years smoking and 20 years growing experience. I still ask some dumb questions sometimes but generally give decent answers to peoples questions I think. (Well I hope anyway.)

Honestly I haven't given a single rep, nor do I know how. I always try to thank people but I guess maybe I should just go along with the system and start repping too.

I got a ton of neg rep. Mods hit me up big time but none of them were man enough to leave their names. See me crying?

you will always have kill mail w****s in internet games, and you will always have rep w****s in forums. it is humans for you, you will always compete with the next dude/lass in line too be the best, the head honcho, the dogs dangleys.

take myself, i have around 10% active time on forum, and some rep. now go look at my topics and posts. you will find my topics and posts are both informative and also helpful. so rep too me is like having a pat on the back for being helpful and/or infomative, a kind of thank you.

quality of posts is what matters not how many you can cram into a year etc etc.
